The Nigeria Football Federation may be forced to slash the bonuses of the Super Eagles and all other national teams as a result of the its poor financial position.

A top official of the federation told Complete Sports that the nation’s football governing body has a very lean budget to execute its numerous programmes and the only way out of the financial quagmire is to cut down on expenses or skip some competitions.

The federation,according to decent sources will be seeking the approval of the executive committee to slash match bonuses of all national teams as well as drastically prune down the list of the technical crews and the backroom staff that seem to be over bloated.

“The NFF is broke because we did not get what we asked for in our budget proposal and with sponsors not forthcoming, we have to cut down on so many things to be able to execute our programmes for the rest of the year.

“We proposed a budget of about N7 billion but we got an envelop for about N1.7billion which is a far cry from what we needed to successfully see our programmes through. Take for instance, we never knew we would win the Africa Cup of Nations and represent Africa at the Confederations Cup and we did not capture that in our budget.

“ The only way out is for government to come to our aid with additional funds or we shall be forced to pay $5,000 as winning bonus to the Super Eagles instead of the current $10,000 they earn for a win. The 50 percent slash will also affect other national teams’’, our source explained.

On the pruning of the national teams officials, our very reliable source who is an NFF chietain confirmed that some backroom staff would have to go including some coaches who are considered surplus to requirements.

We also gathered that the plan is to ensure that none of the national teams has more than three coaches while the backroom staff will be cut down to between five and six for all the national teams.

In a chat with Complete sports recently, the former Notts Country strongman who also backs Keshi to go all the way and deliver 2014 FIFA World Cup ticket, despite the 1-1 draw with Kenya, feels the current crop of players in the team look good enough to shock the world at the forthcoming Confederations Cup in Brazil this June.

The Super Eagles won the Africa Cup of Nations in January at the expense of strong favourites like CIV and Ghana, but it has been argued that the winning streak is nearing its end after a disappointing 1-1 draw with Kenya in Calabar in March.

Nevertheless, Sodje maintained that most critics will watch with envy when Super Eagles evolve into world beaters at the Confederations Cup in Brazil come June, adding that the team is full of talented players

“The coaching crew is doing a wonderful job with Super Eagles at the moment and I strongly believe Keshi will win more laurels in the coming months. You can see the transformation in the team and there are lots of committed youngsters in the team who are ready to shed their blood for the country.

The writing was always on the wall.Dynamos are no longer ideal to play in the CAF Champ League.Three years in succession the team has disapointed Zimbabwean nationals by being mediocre in the Champ League.Furthermore the team s way of winning the league titles for the past 2 years was down to luck.In 2011 they benefitted from FC Platinum s minor slip up and they won on goal difference on the last day.Last season Highlanders were by far the most impressive side,but were let down by their many draws.Dynamos bowed out in the 1st round yesterday to unknown Tunisian side Bizerten,While Esperance,Etoile Du Sahel,are established sides,the unknown team in CAF were too gud for Dynamos.Right now Dynamos are mulling a rest to the CAF Champions league courtesy of their dismal perfomances in CAF for the past 3 years
