I despise parents that do NOT spank unruly kids! You are TRIFLING! These parents get on the train and sit in front of me with a toddler and a spoiled brat in tow. The older kid throws tantrums and the parents get embarrassed and tell him to be quiet. He yells back...I AM NOT TALKING TO EITHER OF YOU SO BE QUIET. He couldn't be more than 4 years old. I tolerated this for about 100 miles. Finally the parenting that Eugene Moore, Sr. and Clara Moore used on me kicked in. I approached the parents and said...I got a belt in my bag if you want to borrow it. There is a bathroom you can use in the rear of the car. They both looked at me like I had spoke a foreign language. The "father" says to me...Oh we don't believe in that. Well sir, you kid is out of control and he is distracting the rest of us around you who are trying to work (me on a film script, the guy next to me studying algorithms, and the couple doing school work). I was just the one that approached them. I told him if he couldn't get his kid under control that I would get the conductor. His remedy, appease the brat by walking him up and down the aisle. BEAT YOUR KIDS BUTTS OR YOU HAVE FAILED AS A PARENT!!!

APC: Settle for Another Name, CPC Chieftain Urges Opposition Parties
A former federal permanent secretary and chieftain of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), Dr. Hakeem Baba Ahmed, Saturday asked the opposition parties in the ongoing merger plan to choose another name for the party instead of wasting time on the proposed All Progressive Congress (APC) which is generating so much controversy.

Speaking at a meeting organised by the Greater Kaduna Group (GKG) yesterday in Kaduna, Ahmed said the controversy surrounding the APC acronym chosen by the parties planning to merge was part of the plot by the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to frustrate the merger.
“If the issue of name is going to cause so much delay in registering the merger, the name should be abandoned and new name be adopted so that time is not wasted.

“This merger requires discipline and commitment by all, we must set aside all tribal and religious differences as well as our personal interest to make sure that this merger works,“ he said.
He noted that the PDP has been in power for long and has all the resources and what it takes to perpetuate itself in office, stressing that the only way to uproot it from power is for the three political parties to merge.

Ahmed, who also served as the secretary of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) , declared that the success of the merger will bring about a great revolution in Nigeria as the PDP would be defeated at all levels of elections in the country.

He however said in order for the merger to be successful and defeat the PDP, there was the need to convince the Nigerian people that the merger is the only alternative to rescuing the Nigerian nation from the clutches of insecurity, corruption and poverty as well as other problems bedevilling the country. “We must be careful with the traps the PDP is setting for our downfall, we must do everything possible to salvage Nigeria. The party must ensure that only credible and patriotic people are fielded for elections,” he added.

Earlier in his remarks, the Kaduna State chairman of the All Nigeria People’s Party (ANPP),Senator Mohammed Aliyu, who presided over the meeting, lamented the frequent crises in Kaduna State which, according to him, have caused division among the people as a result of bad governance.

“In spite of the huge resources at the disposal of the PDP government in Kaduna State, there is nothing much to show for it except bad roads, lack of well equipped hospitals and decaying infrastructure.=
“Our elected leaders have failed and as opposition parties, we saw the need to come together with a view to rescue the situation,” he said.

I get the sense that the feeling with the world today with N. Korea is very similar to the feeling the world felt back in the 30s with Germany. A nation demanding concessions and threatening war. I think that certain military pre-emptive measures should be taken into serious consideration. Negotiations are good; however after many years of ignoring U.N. sanctions and continuing the development of their nuclear missle program, and to top it all off, threatening war with S. Korea and even the United States, I sense a repeat of history in the making. Last time this happened and no one took pre-emptive measures or even attempted to when Germany was making her moves in the 30s. The result- tens of millions lost in either intentional war or intentional genocide. What will be the cost this time if war does break out? Could it have been avoided? If N. Korea does have any where-with-all about anything, she just needs to back off and come to her senses that if conventional warfare is devastating, nuclear warfare would be just plain..........have I made my point?
