A parent asks our group: I have a 9 yr old boy with Down Syndrome. He has severe speech delay, learning difficulties and sensory processing disorder. He has many sensory issues but the one that is causing us the most issues is having a haircut. At 9 he is heavy but the only way I can get him to have a haircut is to restrain him in the chair. I have to lift him in the chair ( which one day will break my back ) and I then get hit, kicked and bitten. It's horrible for everyone concerned. Any suggestions PLEASE!
