Escape to the natural wonders of Great Himalayas, just south east of Manali, for an unforgettable experience. Hampta Pass trek is the beginners delight in every way easy access, dense pine forest, beautiful meadows, adrenaline pumping river crossings and a high altitude mountain pass called Hampta. It got its name from the Hampta village and shepherds and villagers used this pass to enter in Lahaul Spiti valley of Himachal. This was traditional alternative route between Lahaul and Kullu Valley before the road was made over Rohtang Pass.

Hampta Pass is a moderate trek with a scope of mixing lot of other adventure activities to suit varying duration and interest of trekkers. It start from the Prini village and takes us to the majestic foothills of The Great Himalayas, the Pir Panjal Range which is the largest range of the lower Himalayas. Over this trek one will see different hues of nature as you gain altitude from thick green pine forest to awe inspiring view of Mt. Deo Tibba and Mt. Indrasan and their snaking down glaciers to the barren landscape of Lahaul and Spiti valley.

As this trek connects two valley Kullu and Lahaul, so one can get different sort of landscapes. Kullu is full of vegetation and greenery and in contrast, Lahaul valley is completely rocky and sandy with brown mountains with snow-clad peaks. Here scenario of nature changes every day.

Glorious view of Mt. Deo Tibba, Mt. Indraasan and Glaciers belong to them add extra bonus for this trek. As trek will go on many rivers, streams and glaciers will treat you with their beauty. Tranquility of this valley keeps the mind and body so refresh that no one can feel the difficulty of the trek. On the way, you can see many species of Himalayan Flowers and Birds. This whole trek is paradise for bird's lover. Almost 350 species of birds found here. Bird's lovers can get a chance to see Indian Eagle Owl, Western Tragopan, this bird is rarest pheasant and the State Bird of Himachal Pradesh, Kalij Pheasant, Himalayan Monal, Cheer Pheasant.

More research , we took him off dairy products , saw a huge improvements in the meltdowns . Changed schools . He started his fourth grade year in a new school with a wonderful program for Autistic children , with the most wonderful teachers , I have ever met in my life ! They understood ! They taught him , challenged him and loved him ! Our lives started to change ! Within 4 mths , we removed him from 2 medications , he had friends , he was succeeding at school , made his yellow belt in Karate , was excelling at scouts , had lost 30 pds , which was great because of the depression , he was close to 40 pds over weight . He was happy ! Hope had come back to our family !!! We still continued with our research and found a wonderful doctor and tried new things , supplements , diet changes . Fish Oil , juice plus , a trampoline , swim team , joining forums on Autism , educating everyone we could . We have tried many things , some have helped some have not !!! Now to go back a little , we think our son is wonderful , it has not been all challenges , he is so funny , with such a vivd imagination and is such a strong wonderful soul . He has faced so many challenges and continues to , his life may never be like yours and ours , but he will be ......!!!! I can't wait to see !! He is now 12, in 6th grade and still has challenges , mainly because of ignorant people , but is functioning very well ! We are still researching and trying to find ways to make if life a little easier , so that he can function in this world . He is still in Gifted classes, struggles some with math , but is an excellent problem solver , made a perfect score on CRCT in problem solving and creativity , he is still a little obsessive , a little immature , well on his way to becoming an Eagle Scout , has some very good friends , most who are on the spectrum . Now to finally make it to the reason for this page ! Thought it would help to give everyone a little background information !
