Leadership has been described as “a process of social influence in which one person can enlist the aid and support of others in the accomplishment of a common task". Other in-depth definitions of leadership have also emerged.
Leadership is "organizing a group of people to achieve a common goal". The leader may or may not have any formal authority. Studies of leadership have produced theories involving traits, situational interaction, function, behavior, power, vision and values, charisma, and intelligence, among others. Somebody whom people follow: somebody who guides or directs others. :v "If there is anyone out there who still doubts that America is a place where all things are possible, who still wonders if the dream of our founders is alive in our time, who still questions the power of our democracy,Obama directly quoted Abraham Lincoln's first inaugural address, by saying "As Lincoln said to a nation far more divided than ours, we are not enemies but friends. Though passion may have strained, it must not break our bonds of affection."
Obama also referred to Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address by saying "...that more than two centuries later a government of the people, by the people, and for the people has not perished from the Earth"
Obama proclaimed, "It's been a long time coming, but...change has come to America," an allusion to the Sam Cooke song "A Change Is Gonna Come.
Obama also made a reference to a prospective presidential pet for his daughters.

“But my mouth would encourage you; comfort from my lips would bring you relief” (Job 16:5). The spoken word is powerful, and spoken words of encouragement can bring great comfort. The idea is not to speak many words, but the right words. Consider this:
· The Lord’s Prayer contains 71 words.
· The Gettysburg Address contains 272 words.
· The Ten Commandments contains 139 words.
· The Declaration of Independence contains 1323 words.
· A U.S. government order setting the price of cabbage contains 26,911 words.
When it comes to words with impact, being long-winded is not a value. But speaking the right words can be life changing.

I felt my completed essay I've been working on for the past five weeks was just perfect. I got my points across effectively. Now I read in the syllabus that the final draft has to be much longer than I originally wrote although up to this point it has shown 350-700 words. grr. I'm much closer to 350 than to 700 and come to find out, it has to be between 700 and 1400 words. I guess I'll throw in a bunch of fluff to make it longer. I hope it sounds okay when I'm done.

I have some strong advice for our self appointed "emperor of the United States of America. You need to take some time away from your golf games, schmoozing with celebrities, doing fund raisers, writing unconstitutional executive orders and going on vacation, turning this great country into a socialist state and study American History. B.O., you are a black man, you claim to be a student of history and the Constitution. You owe your position in life to someone other than yourself. While God is the obvious (and correct) first choice. Additionally though, you should get on your knees and thank one of your predecessors for the blessings you enjoy now. That person is one of our greatest Presidents(you are NOT).....the 16th President of the United States of America Abraham Lincoln. If nothing else take a few minutes and read the Gettysburg Address. He freed your ancestors and proposed that ALL men are created equal. Furthermore, after the particularly bitter and bloody Battle of Gettysburg (July 1-3, 1863) in which there were nearly 51,000 casualties, Lincoln came to the battlefield and gave his historic Gettysburg Address. In that speech he honored the dead who had given their "last, full measure of devotion", he resolved that "these dead shall not have died in vain". He strongly declared that "this nation, under GOD, shall have a new birth of freedom---and that GOVERNMENT OF THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE SHALL NOT PERISH FROM THE EARTH". B.O., This year is the 150th Anniversary of this momentous speech. It still means something to most of us. Unfortunately, over the last 50+ years our elected leaders have deceived us and sold us out to whoever would offer them the most for our liberty. You B.O., are probably the worst offender. Issuing executive orders, lying to get your way, using threats and power you have illegally usurped to force your programs through. You, supporters (the minority), cohorts, yes men and all of the "sheeple" (they follow whoever offers them the most money, benefits, easy life they feel they are entitled to) are not interested in the honorable, hard working citizens you are supposed to be SERVING. You want as much power as you can grab and take away everyone else's GOD given rights to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" guaranteed in the Constitution.
