I think society adds to my depression. I long to get away, be in the wilderness and pure natural beauty..... I went through the nature documentaries on netflix and can't stop watching the ones about the national parka in just America. I want to move out west. I love Texas but in comparison to the beauty I've seen (even just brief drive throughs and photos and videos) it just depresses me that I am stuck here and not there.... I don't think I'm ment to stay in one spot for long. I'm ment to explore and be one with nature (but please, I do need a toilet! Haha) I can't wait til my son is old enough that I can get out and go. I'm thinking make a trip in May when baby daddy is back in town and he can watch him while I go take a break from society! Maybe that will boost my spirits :) I guess sort of a walkabout....? Has anyone ever done something like that? -C

It's Monday and I am packing already for an "event" this weekend - Annual Company & Battalion Drill. Already having some anxiety over the amount of gear I have to take. One uniform & greatcoat (because at night it will get down to 35 degrees); rain cape & rain hat; the usual accouterments; a blanket roll and groundcloth; and my officer's bag with the necessities. Have to get a tent around, maybe a tent fly, maybe a chair and my officer's desk. Really it is not much but the anxiety is that General Kennetta and Prairie Princess Claire are not going and if they were the volume of gear would be ten-fold. I hope we can pare this down for Gettysburg..... OMG! I better go and grab the coffee pot while it is on my mind!
