Day 436, 240 left, fighting in Osaka, Japan this Sunday. This is a win for me already, I had tares in both my shoulders, bullet remains in my calf from when I was shot, told I was to old at 38, the bullet wound had me gain weight (167 lbs on March 2012) Here I am today Friday, 29 March 2013, ready to rumble at 132 lbs. So yes I have already WON! The outcome on Sunday will just be a plus. I am staying positive, motivating others, but most of all I'm daring to live. I'm enjoy my time on this planet. COLD AT FIRST / COOL AND UNSETTLED LATER
IT'S OFFICIAL !! MARCH 2013 IS THE COLDEST ON RECORD IN IRELAND !!
Well what a March it's been !! Met Eireann reported today that it was in fact the coldest March on record in Ireland, since records began back 72 years ago in 1941. Cork also had its wettest March in 17 years. In the South West and South Leinster it was the coldest in 50 years. Temperatures on average, ran 3 degree below normal.
FORECAST
As always monthly forecasting is very difficult. This forecast is based on what I think is the most likely outcome for the month using the thoughts, knowledge and information I have to date. While most of my previous forecast have gone very well, as always with monthly forecasting, it can go largely wrong and should not be taken for granted.
Remaining much the same country for the rest of this week with good sunny spells or periods but cloudy at times too. Mainly dry with frosts at night which may again become severe well inland from the coasts.
Next weekend a change will set in as winds freshen from the SW and it becomes much more unsettled but milder. Showers or longer spells of rain will push in from the Atlantic and there may be some heavy falls in the early days of next week where it remains milder but not hugely mild. The West will be at most risk from heavy rain or may get most of the showers but the South and East could also the the worst, depending on the track of the depressions.
Remaining unsettled through the first half of next week with rain and possibly strong winds at times but signs are that it will become settled for a few days during the second half of next week with frost possibly returning at night but daytime temps not near as cold as they are now. Also expect some thunderstorms at times with a risk of hail as we are now heading well into the Irish convective season.
Into the third week it's become unsettled again and it will be much like last December, warmer ridges and colder troughs moving through from the Atlantic with spells of rain and sometimes strong winds in the transitions.
I would expect the same unsettled theme to continue for the last week of the month.
Many are saying that the NAO (North Atlantic oscillation) and the AO (Arctic oscillation) with return to positive values next week but I think the transition of this will be much slower so that any low pressure systems will be tracking West to East on a more Southerly track than usual but not as far South as lately. eg, the Jet Stream will be South of normal but not as South as it has been in the past few weeks.
Due to this I expect the passing lows to pull in some Easterly + Northerly winds at times, keeping this a little cooler than normal but nothing on the scale of the cold we have had.
