Claudia is tired. I stayed up with her all of last night and she told me that she wants to go now. We sat and talked and cried, and talked and then cried some more. We are both at peace as is the rest of her immediate family. She is booked to have an mri under ga on Thursday, but needless to say, I don't think we will be going. I am just now wishing and praying for a beautiful and painfree passing for her, in my arms. My very last gift to her.

The Grand Presidential Felicitation with Music, Masti, Meals and 2 CPE Credits!

I had an opportunity to meet Mr. President and Mr. next President. [Vice President is in fact the President for next year by default] I also had an opportunity of expressing my views in the ceremonial felicitation, where about 900+ members were present. The following issues were raised: 1. Non Availability of Opportunities to Young CAs and SMPs, 2. Value less Post Qualification Certificate Courses by ICAI, 3. Incomplete Infrastructure Projects, 4. Non Functional Controls & Value less CPE mandate, 5. Menace of Dummy Articled Assistantship, 6. Non efficient and Non Transparent administration of ICAI and DCOs at Branches, 7. Regional Councils acting like METRO Branches, 8. Widening of knowledge gap between CAs of Metros and CAs of Small & Medium Towns, 9. Continuous Higher pass Outs at CA Exams, 10. Industries Shying away for Campus Placement, 11. Year on Year Decreasing Pay packages to fresh CAs 12. Use of Arbitration to deal with Disciplinary issues within our fraternity... and some other issues of governance. Mr. President, while promising to look in to the issues, passed on the blame on members for issues like Dummy Articled Assistantship and gave an indication of maintaining the passing percentage by following the trend set by Past Presidents religiously, and on most of the issues listed above, he had no solution to offer or at least, I could not find any promise or possibilities for concrete solutions. However, His attitude was positive. Mr. Next President sounded very well prepared and bubbling with ideas. We have no options but to have hopes from this TOP DUO of ICAI. I must say, CA. Tarun Ghia a CCM from Mumbai conveyed his commitment to look in to the issues.
