Why I still love America:
America has a bad rap today. There are so many people on every side of every political issue spitting so much hate and negativity toward the other side. Liberals call conservatives nazis and conservatives call liberals socialists. It's like a school yard with kids pointing out the grossest things about each other, and we wonder why we all grow up with low self esteem. America is suffering from low self esteem right now. We've heard so many bad things about ourselves and our country, that we all basically sit around and dwell on the worst of it. It's time to grow up.
Over the past few days I've seen so many posting the equal sign in an effort to show their solidarity with all Americans as equal. It's the very first american principle. "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal..." I know that it has been a long struggle, but over the last few days I'm proud to say that the American people have stood up and said that it is UNAMERICAN to discriminate against any American. And even though the Supreme Court and Congress have been slow in making the changes (like they always have been historically) the people have spoken. And I believe they have said that All Americans are equal and all deserve the same rights and privileges. PERIOD.
Congratulations us. I'm proud to be an American today. And it gives me hope that even as bad as things seem sometimes, the American people know what's right and wrong, and will stand up for those who are being bullied or oppressed. I much prefer being the kid in class that stands up for the kid that needs some help. That's the American way if you ask me. Go us!

Nothing made me laugh more yesterday than tree huggers expecting horses to die in the grand national. None did. WANKERS!

@EvertonTony @holly_morgana Horses love the grand national. They wait all year for the chance to jump over fences at Aintree.

I'm not against horse racing but I'm against the Grand National.
I see all the horse's survived the Grand National which is the British equivalent to bullfighting but 2 have died in the other races at this meeting doing the same jumps. Only 17 of the horse finished out of 40 that's less than 50%. Much to my amazement 70,000 people go to watch horses jumping as if their lives depend on it, wait a minute it dose, 100 horse have died doing this race in the last 50 years. What must these people be thinking when they see broken horse on the track.
Some in the racing world have chosen to defend their sport in an odd way. One trainer said, "These horse die doing some thing they love". Really did the horse tell him that? Do horses like been whipped and forced to jump over fences so high?
Some of the jockeys are just as bad, Kate Walsh a top female jockey, who finished third on Seabass in the Grand Nation a year ago has said a few things in the last few days.
"At the end of the day their just horses", said Kate Walsh. She's certainly not an animal lover.
"The horses are treated better than some children" said Kate Walsh. I don't see children being whipped, forced to race, made to jump high fences and laying around on race tracks with broken bones. Maybe she's deep and means children in the third world.
As soon as its banned or made safer the better.

The Supreme Court, which hears oral arguments today and tomorrow on same-sex marriage, has become the nation's de facto decider of social policy. The Federal Reserve, meanwhile, whose monetary policy is pumping $83 billion into the economy every month to keep long-term interest rates down, has become the nation's de facto decider of economic policy. And the Department of Defense, now in the twelfth year of an undeclared war on terror, has become the nation's de facto decider of foreign policy. As politics becomes inundated with big money and paralyzed by partisanship, key government functions are being parceled out to entities having little or no accountability to the public, and whose decisions are far removed from public scrutiny. Future historians may well ask: What happened to American democracy?
