EXTRA EXTRA, READ ALL ABOUT IT: April 6th, the 2 Wheeled Warriors will take back the track at Montgomery Motor Speedway in Montgomery, Al for round 3 of the 2013 S.M.A.R.S schedule.
This lightning fast 1/2 mile promises to be action packed with last years champ, D&D Cycles Rob McLendon looking for redemption at the track where he has failed to finish a race due to mechanicals. Mclendon missed the first double header due to a conflict in his pro Racing duties in Daytona Fl where he earned 2 victories in 2 different types of racing. "Unfortunately my Daytona trip was bitter sweet for me. I ran real well at Savannah in Pro-Twins and won that race, then went to Daytona, got sick and didn't qualify, then on the way home, stopped in Starke, Fl for the Pro Supermoto Race and ended up winning that. I guess you could say my bike week was good-bad-good." Look for "The Magic Man" to come to Montgomery swinging and looking to get himself back into the points chase!
Series front runner and current points leader, John Cohorn on his Turn One Performance Husaberg for the 1st time looking to keep his championship lead. Cohorn has amassed a few WERA Championships int he last couple years and is certainly one of the smoother riders on the circuit. John runs his own shop in Milton, Fl. specializing in Performance Mods for motorcycles including Dyno Tuning. The National D-Superbike and Clubman Champion for 2011 is looking to make his name known around the famed Alabama 1/2 mile track. Look for the brightest set of yellow leathers you have ever seen!
Crowd favorite Van "The Veteran" Rayburn will be there to represent for Mobile, Al. Rayburn has been winning motorcycle races since the 1970's and is always a contender whether it be on asphalt or dirt and shows no signs of slowing down. Van is coming back this season from a horrific front straight crash at South Alabama Speedway that would make even the toughest man cringe. His motorcycle blew a gasket and threw him off at over 90 mph slamming him into the pavement. He showed his "True Grit" by coming back for the season opener and scoring two 2nd place finishes. Look for Van in the Autograph session and make sure to shake his hand!
S.M.A.R.S has been steadily growing over the winter months and has added some fresh faces to our rider lineup and we are happy to be able to provide great motorcycle racing to our fans all over the Southeast. Come on out to Montgomery Motor Speedway April 6th and enjoy some good quality racing on 2 and 4 wheels and show your support for the sport!
See you at the RACES

Discreet Dancer on a roll
Brisnet | April 4, 2013
The juggernaut that is the Todd Pletcher stable, victorious in five graded stakes last weekend, will be no less prominent on Wood Memorial Day at Aqueduct on Saturday. In addition to having the likely favorites in the three-year-old features, Pletcher will also saddle another probable choice, Discreet Dancer, in the Grade 1, $400,000 Carter Handicap at seven furlongs.
A Discreet Cat colt whose classic aspirations were halted following a third in last year's Grade 2 Fountain of Youth, Discreet Dancer immediately returned to his winning ways February 6 when taking a six-furlong allowance at Gulfstream by a neck following a layoff of more than 11 months. Last time, the four-year-old romped by 5 1/4 lengths over returning rivals Swagger Jack and Fort Loudon in the Grade 2 Gulfstream Park Handicap over a mile.
CARTER HANDICAP DRAW
POST HORSE
1 Saturday's Charm
2 Fort Loudon
3 Consortium
4 Sahara Sky
5 Brigand
6 Swagger Jack
7 Discreet Dancer Perhaps benefiting to a significant extent from the fact Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Classic hero Fort Larned lost his rider at the start of the Gulfstream Park Handicap, Discreet Dancer might find the situation more challenging in the Carter, which marks the colt's first race outside Gulfstream in five starts.
Invading from the west is Sahara Sky, who ripped off two come-from-behind victories over the winter at Santa Anita in the Grade 2 Palos Verdes and Grade 2 San Carlos, the latter at seven furlongs. The Jerry Hollendorfer trainee might need help, however, as the pace of the Carter may not match the beneficial fractions that aided the five-year-old previously.
Likely front runners include multiple stakes winner Brigand, who was demoted from second to fifth in the Grade 3 General George Handicap last time due to interference, and the aforementioned Fort Loudon, a multiple Grade 3 winner who set a moderate early pace in the Gulfstream Park Handicap before fading to third.
In addition to Swagger Jack, runner-up in the Gulfstream Park and Grade 3 Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship in his last two, Saturday's Charm might step up off a nose loss in the Grade 3 Tom Fool Handicap.
The top three finishers from the February 16 Grade 2 Barbara Fritchie Handicap -- Funnys Approval, My Wandy's Girl and Withgreatpleasure -- will square off again in the Grade 2, $250,000 Ruffian Handicap over a mile. Funnys Approval enters on a four-race win streak, but former Puerto Rican star My Wandy's Girl might have the upper hand this time returning to a track where she captured the Pentelis and placed in the Grade 1 Gazelle last autumn.
Another major player in the six-horse Ruffian is Twice the Lady, who took the January 26 Affectionately by two lengths and finished second in the Grade 2 Top Flight Handicap last time.
The Grade 3, $250,000 Bay Shore, a seven-furlong dash won last year by eventual champion sprinter Trinniberg, drew a crack field of nine three-year-olds, including the leading sprint stakes winners from the Gulfstream and Aqueduct winter meets. Grade 2 Hutcheson hero Honorable Dillon, Grade 3 Swale victor Clearly Now, Jimmy Winkfield star Clawback and Fred "Cappy" Capossela winner Maleeh all look competitive, and are joined by the Nick Zito-trained Declan's Warrior, a Gulfstream allowance winner, and California invader Salutos Amigos.

I want to post a few cars that were big in the 80s/90s but have no idea what was big around that time as I'm from uk and about 90% of the page likes are from usa, so if you know what was big back then or know of any rare exotics from around that time post a pic to the page wall ;)
