Initial impression of new Tau Codex: Holy crap. Truth is I am not sure if the Tau are truly bad ass now in the extreme that I perceive, or if their codex had just not been updated for so long that I was just used to being a bit underpowered such that being brought up to match everyone else just 'feels' extra strong when really it's just about even.
A few points that really make me happy -
Ladybug Brigade is back in action! Vespids had a slight point cost increase but overall picked up a major major boost in not-sucking. Definitely will be using these again.
Farsight is an independent character finally, and doesn't hose the entire army by restricting unit choices anymore
A cheap HQ choice! And.. it doesn't suck! 60 point firewarrior bad-ass that effectively doubles the firepower of a unit he joins
Pathfinders no long require a mandatory 80 point devilfish transport! Add to that the fact that pulse carbines are now assault 2 and I'm actually going to start using the buggers now.

DAY OFF HOBBY UPDATE!
today I are mostly putting Tau Lists together.. Starting with this as a foundation:
- ethereal
- 4 x 6 fire warriors
- 2 x 6 pathfinders with tricks
- 2 x Riptides
- hammerhead with longstrike
- skyray
- 3 x broadsides railguns, smart missiles, TL and seekers
Got 108pts left out of 1500. Am thinking 2 more fire warrior squads..

so had my first battle in over 10 years with a friend playing the new chaos codex, while I was trying out my new Tau Army while relearning warhammer 40k all over again... stupid 6th ed books, rules are all over the place............I think it was designed by the 4 chaos gods or something. was a fun game, and I got to see what works and what dont

Today is the release of the new Tau Empire Codex as well as all the new models. It is very important to know that the models and the codex are in VERY LIMITED supply and are not expected to last through the day on most of them.
If you want to make sure you get your models and book, and trust me you're probably going to want these =), get here early before they're gone. If we are sold out before you arrive then we can make a Web Order to make sure you get your models for the second wave.
