This happen about 11 years ago back in Thailand when I was only 7 years old. Where I live, we don't have a lot of houses but only three houses that have people live in it. During the time there are a lot of kids that were sick. My mom will tell us do not go out and play too much. When it’s dark come home.

The playground was next to our school. My sister and I always go there to meet up with our girlfriends and play volleyball, dodge ball, soccer, tag, and hiding-go-seek, but when we play "hiding go seek," we go around the whole town/village because it’s a small village. All my friends are all the Hmong kids in the village because I am always nice to them and give good advice, but I don’t know too. Maybe they just want to use me because I'm "Hmong-meka"

So we played all the sports games and finally came to tag and hide-and-go-seek. I asked "It’s getting dark, so what game should play. Should we play tag like yesterday, and when it’s dark, let's go home." Some of us agreed, but my friend Kali wanted to play hide-and-go-seek. She said that we played tag yesterday and the day before, before that, and before that... We haven’t played hide-and-go-seek forever.

So everyone decide to play hide-and-go-seek, but we split it so that the guys will seek and the girsl will hide. All my guyfriends hid, and us girls went to hide. We went around the whole town. We hid everywhere to every possible hiding spot, but I stayed close to my younger sister because she didn't know where to go, and she was scared she’d lose me.

It was six of us girls that stayed together in one hiding spot. We hid behind the wall near a mango tree. We just sat under the mango tree waiting for the boys to come, but no one came. We saw no body, and every now of then, we would peek to see, but it was getting late, so we decided the boys lost.

When we all climbed up the wall, I counted there were 7 of us because I can barely see and tell the faces except knowing who they are by their voice. I told my friends to go home, and I’ll see them at school on Monday. There this figure of a little girl that just wouldn't talk. I thought it was a new girl that moved in town. I asked, “It’s dark. Do u want me and my sister walk you home? Don't be afraid. I have my sister, so we go home. We have each other, and you don't have anyone, so we both will take you home.” So I held the girl’s hand and walked the girl home. She pointed to the house behind the wall that we playing hide-and-go-seek. She said that her mom is not home, and she was hungry. My sister holding my hand seemed very scared and said, “Let’s go home. Mommy says go before dark. If we don't get home now, Mommy will spank our butt for sure and ground us.” So I told the little girl that we had to go, so she should go inside and wait for her parents to get home. The little girl did. My sister and I went home.

On our way home, my sister and I had a conversation. My little sister said that the girl looked weird. Her arm is all raw bubbled up. And her face looked deformed. One eye was bigger than the other. I asked my sister how do she know and see. She said she knew because the little girl was next to her when we were hiding behind the wall waiting for the boys to find us. That girl kept poking her. It looked like one of her friends who didn't show up to school for a while. I started staring at her, and I was like, Is she sick? My sister replied, “Yeah, and dead.” I started laughing out loud. When we get home, I told my mom, and she got scared and told us that the little girl died two weeks ago. We even went to her funeral. That's when it got me freaked out because I was holding that little girl’s hand home along with my sister’s.

Sorry folks. It’s a long story, but I hope u guys like it. I still have more to tell you about that hometown I used to live in.
