Hi All Warrior Lacrosse Members,

It has come to our attention that not many tickets for our Annual Fundraising Dance have been sold yet. It is very important for everyone to make all efforts to purchase a ticket and come to the fundraiser on April 13th at the Legacy building in Rotary Stadium. cost is $20 a ticket.

All proceeds go back to Abbotsford Lacrosse. This is the one big fundraiser we do for the season. There will be a Silent Auction, and many great door prizes given away. There will be Spirits, Beer and Wine and the Live Band is NO CODE BLUE. The lead singer is a Lacrosse Mom from Abbotsford.

One reason that everyone needs to show up is to support our Association and get to meet the people you will be spending a lot of time at the box with. But, The most important reason is so that the Association can keep our costs from getting even higher. If we can make enough money at these fundraisers we can do many things.

1. We can try and keep our registration from going up any higher.

2. We can put away some money to get a roof put over the box and make necessary improvements. As registration numbers are getting higher, the need for more box time is getting greater. It would be nice to have a practice at the box in the rain...

3. It gives the membership the feeling of doing your part in improving this association.

SO, PLEASE PURCHASE SOME TICKETS FROM YOUR COACH OR MANAGER ASAP. THE TICKETS NEED TO BE SOLD BY THIS MONDAY SO WE CAN GET AN ACCURATE COUNT ON THE NUMBERS THAT ARE COMING. PLEASE HAVE YOUR MONEY INTO YOUR COACH NO LATER THAN THIS WEDNESDAY.

I re-watched "Last of the Samurai" last night with Tom Cruise. No we didn't share popcorn and hold hands. I mean he was in it. Wish AMC would drop that annoying caption thing they do. Anyway I really love that movie. Probably because even if I am anti-war, I'm totally pro warrior spirit. If that makes any sense to anyone but me. Movies like Braveheart, The 13th Warrior...I could watch them over and over. But what I really want to point out is that Last of the Samurai has one of the most erotic and at the same time chaste scenes I've ever scene in a movie. The Japanese woman who nurses Cruise back to health, despite his having killed her husband in battle, tells him he would bring honor to her house if he were to wear the dead husband's armor when he joins the Samurai in battle. She proceeds to undress him and re-dress him in that armor with all the slow, languorous grace of a geisha performing a Japanese tea ceremony. You never see much more than his bare shoulder, but the fiery looks of longing they exchange and the way she circles him, untying his belt, smoothing the undergarment over his shoulders
& down his arms is just unbearably hot! Made me sorry I didn't have someone to share my popcorn with last night. And then there is just a single, chaste and delicate kiss between the characters. A lot of movie directors (and writers) could learn volumes from that scene!
