Start the evaluation with IHSSCA All-Stater Rachele Armand (Louisville) and All-Section 3 Jenna Romano (Wake Forest), plus top weapons Kristen Brots (11 goals, 11 asissts/Kent State) and Kristen Dodson (12 goals, 6 assists/Auburn). Continue the conversation with Rachele Brots (SIU-Edwardsville), Kendall Wilde (Illinois-Chicago) and Karla DiJohn (DIII Notre Dame College), plus improving sophomores Auburn Morgan in midfield and Emma Rigby in goal. The roll call of talented Warrior alums playing at the collegiate level will rise to 52 once the aforementioned players matriculate.

Contrary to myth, Christianity's concept of marriage has not been set in stone since the days of Christ, but has constantly evolved as a concept and ritual.
Prof. John Boswell, the late Chairman of Yale University’s history department, discovered that in addition to heterosexual marriage ceremonies in ancient Christian church liturgical documents, there were also ceremonies called the "Office of Same-Sex Union" (10th and 11th century), and the "Order for Uniting Two Men" (11th and 12th century).
These church rites had all the symbols of a heterosexual marriage: the whole community gathered in a church, a blessing of the couple before the altar was conducted with their right hands joined, holy vows were exchanged, a priest officiatied in the taking of the Eucharist and a wedding feast for the guests was celebrated afterwards. These elements all appear in contemporary illustrations of the holy union of the Byzantine Warrior-Emperor, Basil the First (867-886 CE) and his companion John.
Such same gender Christian sanctified unions also took place in Ireland in the late 12thand/ early 13th century, as the chronicler Gerald of Wales (‘Geraldus Cambrensis’) recorded.
Same-sex unions in pre-modern Europe list in great detail some same gender ceremonies found in ancient church liturgical documents. One Greek 13th century rite, "Order for Solemn Same-Sex Union", invoked St. Serge and St. Bacchus, and called on God to "vouchsafe unto these, Thy servants [N and N], the grace to love one another and to abide without hate and not be the cause of scandal all the days of their lives, with the help of the Holy Mother of God, and all Thy saints". The ceremony concludes: "And they shall kiss the Holy Gospel and each other, and it shall be concluded".
At St. John Lateran in Rome (traditionally the Pope's parish church) in 1578, as many as thirteen same-gender couples were joined during a high Mass and with the cooperation of the Vatican clergy, "taking communion together, using the same nuptial Scripture, after which they slept and ate together" according to a contemporary report. Another woman to woman union is recorded in Dalmatia in the 18th century.
It proves that for the last two millennia, in parish churches and cathedrals throughout Christendom, from Ireland to Istanbul and even in the heart of Rome itself, homosexual relationships were accepted as valid expressions of a God-given love and committment to another person, a love that could be celebrated, honored and blessed, through the Eucharist in the name of, and in the presence of, Jesus Christ.

Seeking support for Forever Kelton! They recently lost their baby boy (see below) and are raising money for NICU research at St. Louis Children's Hospital! Needing golf teams and volunteers. Please help them out, or at the very least, support them if you can! Here is more on their story:
Please email Rhonda Lentz at lentz24@comcast.net if you would like to volunteer and here is their story (from facebook - check them out):
The Forever Kelton Memorial Fund was established to celebrate the short, yet impactful life of Kelton Christopher James Peter, beloved son of Christopher and Stephanie (Fleer) Peter; and to support NICU research at St. Louis Children's Hospital.
Kelton Christopher James Peter was born on April 18th, 2012 and passed away 8 short days later due to complications arising from a rare genetic defect, Trisomy 13. God had a greater purpose for Kelton in heaven than here on earth, and we learned more from Kelton in those 8 days than we could have ever envisioned learning in a lifetime.
We had performed all of the standard tests including 3-D so...nograms, and everything indicated that this little boy was perfect. As soon as Kelton was born, however, he had difficulty breathing on his own and was intubated. That night, April 18, Kelton was transferred to St. Louis Children's Hospital in his own personal “rocket ship” accompanied by MiMi Peter. We, however, had to remain in Quincy until Stephanie was well enough to make the 2 hour trek south to be with our son. A day and a half after having a c-section, we convinced the doctors that Stephanie was well enough to travel, which I believe is a new hospital record for release time. Soon after arriving in St. Louis, we discovered that Kelton had a rare genetic defect known as Trisomy 13 . Trisomy 13 is a disorder in which every cell in Kelton’s body had an extra 13th chromosome. Thus, Kelton had 47 chromosomes instead of the normal 46. This extra chromosome causes numerous birth defects. Most of these are primarily midline defects such as heart defects, and the cumulative effects are generally fatal. God has a plan, and it was to ensure Kelton made it safely here on Earth so that he could positively impact our lives and subsequently help many others in need.
Where the name “Forever Kelton” originated is an interesting story as well. Kelton’s eldest sister, Victoria, has somewhat of a “Sixth Sense" and created a poster with "Forever Kelton" on it while Stephanie was in labor, long before we knew Kelton was a very sick little boy. This poster traveled with us to St. Louis. While we were all in Kelton’s room in the NICU saying our “Good Byes”, Victoria pulled out a $5 bill that she had found on the ground during lunch, and announced that she wanted to be the first to donate money in Kelton’s memory. She then wondered what we should call it, and we all looked at her poster hanging on the wall and said "Yeah! That's it! We'll call it Forever Kelton!"
We are currently in the final stages of planning Kelton’s Warrior Weekend to be held April 19-20, 2013. Please watch for more information relative to a charity golf tournament at Spring Lake Country Club, Kelton’s 1st birthday party to be held at the Gem City Gymnastics Center, and a poker run hosted by TNT Action Sports. Funds generated will be used to establish an endowment in Kelton’s honor under the aegis of St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and all funds will be used to support NICU research activities
