If you can’t be a pencil to write anyone’s happiness try to be a nice eraser to remove someone’s sadness.

Yesterday while driving to church I saw yellow t-shirts everywhere. I love this day of the year when the Baptist church has their “Be The Church” day. It is a day to serve others. Instead of having their church service they serve our community. You can see them picking up trash, washing cars, sweeping sidewalks, pumping gas, delivering food, buying donuts, planting flowers and much more. What a great project that I am sure pleases the Lord.

Jesus went about doing good before He healed people. True love of others is shown by doing, our actions speak louder than our words. Just like God said to Abraham, “I will bless you and you will be a blessing.” Everyday we should all look for opportunities to be a blessing to others. The Lord created us to be givers. Your own soul is nourished when you do for others. Just as Paul said in 2 Corinthians, “I want you to excel in the act of giving, this is what I want you to be great at.” When we are good to others God will be good to us. Are you willing to be a blessing? Are you ready to make it a priority to be good to people?

We should have a goal everyday to do one good thing for someone else. You don’t have to have a reason, just do something for someone just because. Do something just because this is what the Lord wants you to do. “Be the Church” be the chain reaction that shares kindness to all, it will be contagious.

Dear Lord help me to be a blessing everyday to someone. Guide me to those who need to be uplifted, who need a kind word spoken to them. We know that You created us not to be ingrown, but to be givers. Nourish us with the ability and the strength to be strong enough to help when we are needed. We know that we will have happiness for life when we are blessings to others. Assist us in being someone’s miracle.

I know I should be closing my eyes and getting some sleep. But, I am in bed and just smiling at how wonderful life is. Even with some sidebar things that have to be dealt with, it is so great to be apart of life. MARTINSVILLE, Va.—Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s recipe for success this season has included running well at the end of events, often picking off several spots at the finish.

That didn’t happen in the STP Gas Booster 500 on Sunday at Martinsville Speedway. Even if he could pass cars at the end, he was already two laps down and had little to gain.

The Hendrick Motorsports driver posted his worst finish of the season as he placed 24th, his first finish outside the top 10 in six races this year.

Having entered the race atop the Cup standings as the only driver to finish in the top 10 in each of the first five races, Earnhardt dropped to third in the standings, 12 points behind race winner Jimmie Johnson.

“We’ve got to capitalize at the tracks where we run good and this is one of them,” Earnhardt said. “So I’m pretty disappointed that we ran like we did. We just have to try better when we come back (in October).

“It’s a long year. Things are going to happen. It doesn’t mean you have to like it.”

Earnhardt, who started 17th, steadily passed cars to reach the top 10 in the first 50 laps and the top five by Lap 100. He was fifth with 200 laps to go but then fell back to 20th, a lap down, with 75 laps remaining as the handling of his car slipped away.

“At the start of the race, we had a good car,” Earnhardt said. “We made a lot of adjustments to change that and it was a bad car at the end of the race.”

With 34 laps remaining, he spun as part of a chain-reaction accident when Brian Vickers got into Danica Patrick, who got into Earnhardt. Vickers also might have gotten a nudge from Aric Almirola behind him.

“Somebody driving over their head got into Danica and run into her and knocked her into me,” Earnhardt said. “Part of that is kind of the way the racing goes. We were in the way all day. We got run over about five or six times.”
