"... The glory of a next Augustan age
Of a power leading from its strength and pride,
Of young amibition eager to be tried,
Firm in our free beliefs without dismay,
In any game the nations want to play.
A golden age of poetry and power
Of which this noonday's the beginning hour."

Impulsively looked up tickets to todays game...I had a last minute desire to go catch the game at Progressive Field. Tickets (that are still available) start at $40 per ticket....but they come with a free nose bleed and a wonderful view of the Cleveland Skyline....at eye level. #bloodmoney

Greetings from DePaul Volleyball,
Spring is finally here, and for those of you who are local you know we are just finally starting to get some good weather. With that being said, we officially kicked off our spring competition season this past weekend at the Great Lakes Center. The tournament brought together some of the most competitive teams in the Midwest; including Michigan State, Purdue, Notre Dame, Marquette, Bradley and DePaul.
The Blue Demons came together for their first challenge of the spring battling both Purdue and Notre Dame. After beating up on each other the last few months in practice, the girls were excited to see another team across the net. They came out strong and rose to the challenge. Our team was able to take a set from both teams, who finished in the NCAAs this past season with an RPI ranking of 22 and 39 respectively. It was great to start off the spring with solid competition and create a foundation to build on as we look forward to the next few weekends.
This weekend we travel just north of Sheridan, to compete at Loyola for the Three Wise Men Tournament. DePaul will take on Bradley, Loyola and Green Bay. Our third weekend we are off to scrimmage against the Flames of UIC and our final weekend we are looking forward to welcoming back all of our alumni to our 2nd Annual Alumni Scrimmage.
Last year we had a terrific turnout and I would have to say, some healthy competition! This year, we are looking forward to reuniting with all of you once again to enjoy some food, fellowship, great memories and some fierce competition. The itinerary for the event is as follows:
12pm-Meet and Greet Social/Tailgate at Softball game
1pm-Warm ups
1:15pm-Compete
3pm- Closure
This year we are tagging up with Softball and hosting our alumni day on the same day as theirs. Hopefully this will provide an opportunity to bring both alumni groups and events together in sprit of our Blue Demons.
During the social hour, we would like to take that time to introduce each of our returning alumni and current team members. Your experiences and memories are important to us, so please feel free to bring in any pictures, posters or memorabilia of when you played. As our program continues to move forward, my goal remains to bridge the gap between our alumni and current players. You have all laid the foundation to which our program is building upon and your successes are important for the growth and development of our current players. We all look forward to seeing as many of you as possible and keeping the culture of DePaul Volleyball rich.
Please mark your Calendars for April 28th at 12pm, this will be an event you will not want to miss!
Take care and GO BLUE!
