From Optima Prime to me, its a little storry about me and Optimus in TFP:BH, she sorta made it up kinda differently, enjoy:

“Optimus, I have the forge. You can use it to repair yourself.” Smokescreen said a little out of breath from dragging the forge back to where he and Optimus were hiding from the Decepticons.
“That is not the reason, *pants* I had you retrieve the relic.” Optimus managed to say as his energy kept draining from him.
“What?! I don’t understand!” Smokescreen said clearly confused.
“The power of the forge is not unlimited. Its energy has already begun to eb.” Optimus said very weakly
“So it’s running low. Who cares? All we need is enough juice to get you back into fighting shape.” Smokescreen said.
“Whatever power remains must be used to rebuild the omega lock. To restore Cybertron.” Optimus said
“But that would mean…..” Smokescreen said with concern
“The fate of all our kind is more vital than that of any one of us. Including me.” Optimus said before he passed out for a few minutes.
“Optimus the forge is a relic of the Primes. We can’t use it to restore Cybertron, not without a Prime, not without you.” Smokescreen said after thinking about it while Optimus was out cold for the past few minutes.
“There will be a new Prime.” Optimus said
Smokescreen gasped, and slightly whimpered at the thought of losing Optimus and having a new Prime replace him, was almost too much for the young warrior to bare. “You can worry about that after we get you patched up, and take down Megatron.” Smokescreen said and paused for a moment.
Then Optimus reached up and places a hand on Smokescreen’s arm. Smokescreen quickly looked at Optimus totally unaware of what he was going to say next. “The time for a new leader is upon us. In my spark, I believe that leader stands before me, right now.” Optimus managed to say.
Smokescreen almost became paralyzed from sheer shock of what Optimus just said. He couldn’t manage to manage up any words to reply. So when Optimus gave him the Matrix of Leadership, he took it and put it in his chest.
In Optimus’s head, before he gave Smokescreen the Matrix, he thought ‘ Ha ha sucker now you get to have to deal with all the weight and burden of being a Prime. Good luck with it sucker because I am finally free of it! Whoo hooo!’
When Smokescreen put the Matrix within him he glared at Orion Pax and then grabbed the forge and fixed up his body and made sure he lived. He then shoved the Matrix back into Orion’s chest and kept glaring at him as he turned back into Optimus.
Optimus was stunned to be back and fully healed. “Next time try to keep you mind clean of you last thoughts before you try and make a full proof plan of getting rid of the Matrix.” Smokescreen said while standing over Optimus and tapping his peds and had a scowl on his face.
“What do you mean?” Optimus asked a little shocked.
“Your thoughts and everything was placed in the Matrix. And there is no way in the pit I am going to take that troublesome thing if it is causing you to be so desperate just to get rid of it. So I’m sorry to tell you are you stuck with it big bot.” Smokescreen said while smiling and patting Optimus on the back.
Optimus sighed and cursed under his breath. His plan failed when he thought it was flawless. ‘Damn Matrix, you have been nothing but trouble since I got you.’ He thought.
“Now come on we better go find the others.” Smokescreen said as he gave the forge to Optimus and then began to lead him to the surface, as Optimus kept mentally cursing the damn Matrix he was cursed with.
