Toys @ School: Attack of the Pokemon cards – what happened to silly bands? There have been several students in our class (and others) that have been bringing trading cards to play with when at school. We are very reluctant as a school to ban items like toys, trading cards, phones, etc. Experience has shown that a full ban on items tends to backfire and makes the situation worse. When I began to notice their appearance we discussed the idea of toys at school in depth. I advised students that I ‘had concerns’ about trading cards for a variety of reasons. Though there is no official ‘ban’ (at this point anyway), I highly recommend that any toys (stickers, hot wheels, trading cards, buttons, lego, etc.) stay at home. This may avoid
Staffing Change: Next week marks Mr. Somma’s last week with us. He has been assisting our class in the mornings since September as an Education Assistance/Child and Youth Worker.
