So, Baroness Thatcher has died, as sorry as i feel for her family i cannot mourn the loss of a prime minister who set about selling off National Assets like Gas Electric And the Transport system, nor can i mourn the loss of a prime minister who set about demolishing our mining industry, who set police officers onto men and women trying to save not just their jobs but a way of life in this country i cannot mourn the loss of a prime minister who allowed the selling of our social housing stock (we are all feeling the affects of this still today )so Rest in Peace Mrs Thatcher because not many of us will, because of your actions we live with fuel poverty, we live in cramped conditions or at the mercy of private landlords, whole towns and communities remain isolated and broken, and Rail travel is liken to animal transportation , in fact DEFRA has laws on how cattle are transported, so yes R.I.P Mrs Thatcher, its a shame we can't do the same with some of your policies still affecting us 20+ years later

4 Smart Reasons to Become Gluten Aware

Millions of people suffer from a wide range of gluten-related symptoms, from sluggishness and brain fog to stomach discomfort and heartburn, without even knowing that gluten — the primary protein in wheat, barley, and rye — is at the root of their health problems. While only about 1 percent of the population has celiac disease and cannot tolerate even a trace of gluten (if this sounds like you, talk with your doctor about getting the appropriate tests to rule it out), most people fall somewhere else on the gluten sensitivity spectrum.

Being gluten aware is about discovering your own level of gluten tolerance and making conscious decisions about how much gluten to consume. In his new book, The South Beach Diet Gluten Solution, Dr. Arthur Agatston, creator of the South Beach Diet, explains how following a gluten-aware eating plan can help you lose weight and feel great fast — without necessarily eliminating the foods you love. In his Gluten Solution Program, Dr. Agatston advises cutting out gluten for just four weeks, and then slowly adding gluten-containing whole grains and other foods back into your diet to determine how much gluten you can tolerate without triggering symptoms.

Whether you’re experiencing symptoms of gluten sensitivity, or you’d just like to learn more about how gluten affects your health, here are four reasons to lead a more gluten-aware lifestyle from now on:

Improved weight loss
Following an eating plan like the South Beach Diet Gluten Solution will help you start to shed excess pounds within just a couple of weeks. But it’s important to understand that limiting gluten in your diet does not ensure that you will lose weight, particularly if you simply replace gluten-containing processed foods with gluten-free processed foods. Gluten-free or not, junk food is still junk food. But temporarily eliminating gluten, eating healthy, nutrient-rich gluten-free foods, including plenty of vegetables, fruits, and legumes, and then gradually reintroducing gluten back into your diet — along with exercising regularly and making other beneficial lifestyle changes — will help you achieve a healthy weight.

Increased energy
Even though fatigue is a symptom that’s not related to the GI tract, it’s a very common symptom of gluten sensitivity. Gluten overload can cause people with gluten sensitivity to feel sluggish and tired, even after a full night of good-quality sleep. But people with gluten sensitivity often report that they feel energized and less fatigued after cutting down on — or in some cases, eliminating — gluten.

Better brain power
Lack of mental focus, or “brain fog,” is a common complaint that’s usually associated with stress or aging, but it can also be a symptom of gluten sensitivity, even though it’s not directly related to the GI tract. It’s very possible that leading a gluten-aware lifestyle may enhance your mental agility. Many people have reported that they feel more alert and on the ball with less gluten in their diets.

Relief of symptoms
Being gluten aware and limiting gluten in your diet may relieve, and in some cases literally cure, symptoms that have been troubling you for ages. Gluten sensitivity can result in a wide range of symptoms, including bloating, stomach cramps, abdominal pain, flatulence, cramping, and heartburn (acid reflux). Other common symptoms include sluggishness, fatigue, and brain fog (as mentioned above), as well as headaches, depression, stiff joints, skin rashes, and sinus problems. Some of these symptoms resolve in just a few days of cutting back on or eliminating gluten, others may take longer. But you’ll likely be amazed at the results.

Claudia is......ok. She is awake, happy, she has enjoyed having her sisters read to her today. She is getting totally demanding in that she wants at least two foot massages a day :-O Totally understandable as in she does get bored easily (but that is actually a good sign in that only active minds get tired and bored). She is pain free still and if I thought for one minute that she wouldn't die in the next week, we'd be off on a boat in the Norfolk Broads. We have been fortunate enough to travel and travel a fair way but our favourite family holiday......afloat on the waves :-) We have some incredible memories and photos from times in Norfolk :-D

Well, it was a great year of the Open. Last year I PR'd on a 135# snatch in 12.2 and now I have a 185#. I had no double unders and this year I have 110 unbroken record (so far) and 3 consecutive triple unders. Training for the 2014 Regionals starts today, with a fresh perspective of what I could be if I want it bad enough.

Today's Work:

- Warmup -
3 Rounds for Time of:
1 Power Snatch (155#)
2 OH Squats (155#)
3 Bar Muscle Ups
4 Wall Ball (20#/12ft target)
5 Burpees
6 KB Swings (70#)
12 Air Squats
24 Double Unders (must be unbroken)
Time: 10:24

- Oly Work -
Hang Squat Clean + Squat Clean + Front Squat. Work up to a heavy single: I hit 215#, which was a HSC PR!

- Goat Work -
20 minutes of muscle ups working toward an efficient kip.

- Conditioning -
3 Rounds for Time of:
500m Row
12 Deadlifts (225#)
21 Box Jumps (24")
Time: 13:50
