Good work, everyone!! At the end of week 2, we should all be at around 25 miles to be on pace for the 150 mile goal. The standout performer these two weeks was definitely Cherise with nearly 60 miles!!! Matt, with -1,432 miles has a lot of ground to cover. On to week 3!

with 2 weeks off gigs i have been set a weekly challenge by my Gurus. To cycle 25k & run 12k in 4 gym sessions. current totals after 1 session are 7k on bike & 3k on treadmill plus a broken pair of glasses, not a bad start.

Well I have been quiet for a while! The river has been slowly dropping. it was 1ft 3" Friday and 1ft 2" Saturday and today just over a 1ft. Since Friday the water quality has been superb with lovely clear water and a classic Wye greeny tinge. I landed a 15lb springer late Friday with sea lice and Rene Alleyne has landed a 22 pounder today, both from Courtfield. Simon Evans at the WUF has just told me three weeks worth of springers have come in since Friday, with 32 fish caught since Friday including 4 thirty pounders. If anybody doubts the Wye is improving they must be on another planet.

Baldelli led the Gannon baseball team to three victories in four games against Indiana (Pa.) last weekend. The senior catcher hit .438 with a .563 slugging percentage and a .471 on-base percentage. He was errorless in 35 fielding opportunities behind the plate and has not committed an error in 18 consecutive games, a stretch of 138 straight fielding opportunities. Baldelli hit .500 (4-8) with runners on base, .500 (2-4) with runners in scoring position and .429 (3-7) with two outs. He produced a hit during his only at-bat of the week with the bases loaded and raised his average 31 points last weekend to .333 for the season. The Ellwood, Pa., native completed the IUP series by going 5-for-8 with three runs and four RBIs during Sunday’s doubleheader. He ended Gannon’s 1-0 victory in 14 innings during the opening game of the series with a two-out RBI double into the left center gap. Baldelli opened Sunday’s first game scoring with a two-out RBI single in the first. He then started a two-out rally in the sixth with a double, before scoring an insurance run during the next at-bat en route to a 4-1 victory. Baldelli gave Gannon a 6-2 lead in the final game of the series with a two-run single in the fourth.
