Speaking Candid truth.



In a conversation with a friend recently, I discovered some very important truth. That is if you cannot speak truth with a friend (a real one) then you are not a friend. This truth is possibly, what is wrong with America. Too many people want one out of two truths. 1. The sugary sweet truth that usually has a hint of lie in it or 2. “Their truth.” Their truth is the one where you just go along with whatever they think is right. Both truths are wrong. As adults, we all must learn that a truth covered with a lie is still a lie. In addition, life is not sugary sweet. Truth tends to be salty and full of bitterness.

There is nothing wrong with considering others feelings when telling truth. Sometimes, however; administering it in small doses not work. There are those who just do not get it until they are being force fed reality. No need to apologize for the delivery. Most people are not as sensitive as they may seem. As a matter of fact those “sensitive” folk more likely have an how dare you complex. Where they can speak truth, but they do not want to hear truth.

After much consideration of it all, those people who you love, who love you should willingly except truth as it is. In addition, it may cut down on the train wrecks that happens around us. Speaking candid truth may also help save others from having to start back at square one and trying to figure out why no one spoke on the truths that they saw happening.



Finally, consider what truths being told to you. Even if it seems that it’s coming from love, realize that there are some whose agendas do not equal your best interest.
