Once upon a time, there was a young boy. He was called Magnus Carlsen. At the age of 6 he become a chess player. By Age 13 he become the 2nd youngest ever chess Grand Master. At age 22, he qualified for the World Championship Candidates Tournament that was scheduled to be played at the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Savoy Place, London, from 15 March to 1 April 2013. During this tournament, a 14 game double round robin, Carlsen led by half a point at the end of the 11th round. Then he lost to another chess player called Ivanchuk in the 12th round and another chess player called Kramink took the lead by half a point. Then at the final 14th round game he was drawn to play another chess player called Svidler, while Kramnik was drawn to play Ivanchuk . . . (to be continued)

I am Quite Worried About Player's Who Aren't Good player's But Are Aiming for a GM title in the future.I understand each and every chess player wants to become a GM,but dreams should be restrickted to a certain level.I urge them not to spoil their future for chess,i am not talking about kiddos like anand nadar or someone(they have a good chance for a GM title) but some others who are keeping their studies at stake and playing chess. Please carrier comes first then chess. There is simply no scope in chess if youre below the 2100 mark..guy i often see players posting i will be gm in 2015 blah blah blah..Think before u post or talk people consider you as a fool.. I even saw a 45 year old person who had left studies for chess and is still a coach and still has strong hopes of becoming a Gm :(..Sad but true,i am dam sure many people who deeply love this game(addicted as well) will argue but makes no sense guys..It's chess Not cricket

This government is moving into full Thatcherite mode the bastards are up to the old tricks of demonising and dividing. Why are the so-called liberals backing them up and labour falling over itself to appear at least as right wing as the lot of them.

Magnus Carlsen won the FIDE Candidates' Tournament in London on Monday after a bizarre finish of what has become a historic event for chess. Both the Norwegian and the other leader, Vladimir Kramnik of Russia, unexpectedly lost their game in the final round, and so they remained tied for first place and Carlsen won on the second tie-break rule: higher number of wins. This means that in the next title match, World Champion Viswanathan Anand will face Carlsen. On the last day Levon Aronian of Armenia beat Teimour Radjabov of Azerbaijan while Boris Gelfand of Israel and Alexander Grischuk of Russia drew their game

"Intolerance is the first sign of an inadequate education. An ill-educated person behaves with arrogant impatience, whereas truly profound education breeds humility.

For a country to have a great writer is like having a second government. That is why no regime has ever loved great writers, only minor ones."

― Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn (legendary dissenter of Soviet Russia)

And this explains why most Indians like Chetan Bhagat so much and why do religious zealots call everyone who defy their teachings to be "degenerate".
