Following the NRA's formal announcement today of a plan calling for armed guards or armed staff in all schools, the Brady Campaign released this statement:

"Once again, the NRA leadership is missing the point. The American public is calling for a comprehensive solution that not only addresses tragic school shootings, but also helps prevent the thousands of senseless gun deaths each year. Expanding the background check program, which nine out of ten Americans support, is one place to start. The entire package of sensible gun legislation passed by the Senate Judiciary Committee will get us the rest of the way there. The announcement today is not the conversation the American people want to have."

What do you think about the NRA's proposal?

It's already round two of the macroeconomic showdown of London-based second-generation Chinese emigrant pricing consultant economists. A natural phenomenon you don't see enough these days. Currently featherweight champion Zhou has retired to the red corner but the crowd is already waiting for a robust start for round three.

Ready in London
By Robbie Pangilinan

London via PCSO – Philippine Memory Team member Mary Sharmaine Deldio Dianquinay, the reigning Thailand International Open Women’s Champion is ready and confident to win two days before the Welsh Open Memory Championships starts on Saturday, March 30 at the Llanover Village Hall in South Wales, United Kingdom.

“I’m ready. It’s a big challenge for me, but I will try my best,” said the silver and bronze medalist during the 2013 Australian Open Memory Championships last November in Brisbane, Australia.

The 18-year-old UP Manila Speech Pathology student is eyeing her first Grandmaster norm/ results in the event organized by Dai Griffiths and sanctioned by the World Memory Sports Council headed by co-founder famous book author and mind mapping inventor Tony Buzan, England’s Chess Grandmaster Raymond Keene and General-Secretary Chris Day.
Dianquinay is the international overall champion in the Women’s Division at the 2012 Thailand Open Memory Championships where she also got a gold medal in the Random Words Division. She was also the silver medalist in the Spoken Numbers Division and the bronze medalist in the Random Words Division at the 2012 Australian Open Memory Championships.

Dianquinay started last year when she was 17, but didn’t expect to compete in the adult division. She was suddenly fielded there when she turned 18 in June. She was one of the youngest, yet finished on top in the Women’s Division during her first international competition.

“If you aim for something big, never expect it to be easy. If it wasn’t difficult, then it wouldn’t be worth it,” said Sharmaine, who is now also a Memory Sports Coach.
Dianquinay’s teammate, 16-year-old Princess Grace Mendoza begged off at the last minute due to an unavoidable circumstance. #
