SO...Amber gets called by an automated voice saying someone at our address is "illegally viewing government documents". I talked to Tjay about it first and he made it sound like the CIA was cracking down on illegal music/movie downloads and was blaming us. ANYWAY...Amber left them a msg immediately (cuz after it said what it had to, it turned over to a voicemail basically) accurately describing how shes lived in AZ for half a year now and none of its in her name and so forth....
First of all...yer isp will most likely contact yew first about illegal downloads with a cease and desist notice (or 3...? or more...). Followed by either terminating yer service or simply slowing it waaaaaay down (this i hear doesnt work for them and is mostly in canada...aka throttling)
Second, only like a thousand of the hundreds of millions of users that do download illegally got sued last year...
Third, they are not gonna give yew time to wipe yer computers/hard drives by calling yew to accuse yew....let alone have a robocaller do it. Though the FBI might show up randomly one day if they ARE tracking yew...
Fourth....wtf does "Viewing Government Documents Illegally" even mean? Someone hacked a files vault and tried peeking at blackops? that are all blacked out anyway.....
Lastly....and this is the best part....the number that popped up on her phone traced back to the Kalkaska Auto Value.....
SCAM? I think so...
