Originally from McHenry, North Dakota (population 63) Don Lowe's songs explore the world around him. They tease the pious and greedy, but are gentle to humans. Don's musical influences include John Prine, Todd Snider, Greg Brown, Steve Earle and Loudon Wainwright III. Dogs, Clowns, and Belles marks his first CD release. After 15 years in New York City and Los Angeles as an actor, Don moved to Connecticut where he enjoys a freelance writing career, teaches college writing, yells at his children, and is featured in music venues throughout the Northeast.

SUSANNA MARKER AND AL BURGASSER
Susanna Marker and Al Burgasser, both Sherman residents, have been performing and writing songs together for a long time, although it's been only about a year since they began performing in public as the group Lumos. Their blend of original music (composed together and individually), along with a versatile repertoire of cover songs has helped them gain a following in local coffee houses, open mic nights, and related venues.

Their composing efforts have ranged from children's songs, to the blues, and from traditional folk music to songs that would be ideal for two-steppin', and pretty much everything in between. Along with their harmony, their use of a guitar and violin for accompaniment have created a style and sound that is truly their own.

Susanna is also a member of the group Red Dirt Road, a very popular country music band that frequently plays in local venues in the area, and she performs with Pat Walker under the name Red and Yellow. Al is a member of the popular classic rock band, Cripple Creek, which has been performing regularly at the River Bistro in New Milford and other local venues for nearly 10 years.

WHO IS TO BLAME FOR THUGGERY IN FUJI MUSIC?

Fuji music has been wrongly labeled as music of thugs and miscreants by most music lovers. Violent and threatening behaviours among Fuji followers is becoming very rampant in recent time. Just few wrongdoers among Fuji lovers degenerates the music and spoiling the fun for everyone.

"Bobo yen fumble sa, mowa niwaju e, ko kimi, made ri wipe won mess e ni igboro"

A self styled "Omo Igboro" bragged after experiencing what he believed was rude and not showing any respect to a big boy. A big boy's presence must be recognised by any Fuji artist. However, we must all understand that sometimes the Fuji artists or most artists generally have large crowd on stage, and will not be able to see or mention everyone's name. I have heard and witnessed such angry outbursts by these so called big boys many times, and i think it is simply belittling to see a 50 year old man behaving so appallingly.

Frankly Fuji has not been given the acknowledgments it deserves because of these sort of lack of moral scruples by followers of Fuji music. I cannot imagine Alex Duduyemi or Victor Odofin Bello angrily challenging or attacking Ebenezer Obey for not serenading them at party, even when they were younger, neither will you see Dele Adeyemo or sir K Oshinusi behaving like a nuisance in front of KSA.

Years back, a top Fuji musician was attacked on stage by a thug, who was said to have placed a bet with his mates that he could attack the artist on stage. He went ahead and attacked the artist and won the bet. Today the guy is still hopelessly roaming the street of Lagos today due to the curse placed on him by the Fuji artist.

K1 is not spared from such angry outbursts by fans in London years back, beer bottle was almost smashed on his head by a very aggressive fan who claimed that he failed to mention his name despite spraying him money.

If one carefully look at most Fuji artists you'll see series of stab wounds, especially around the head.

What could be done to arrest this very ugly behaviour among Fuji practitioners and their followers?
