This is a hands on role, carrying out many of the day to day activities that are required for the smooth running of our brewery and production of our high quality beers.
• Commercial brewing experience is preferred.
• Ability to manage many tasks concurrently without supervision to a high standard.
• Completion of a formal brewing qualification is highly desirable.
• You must have the passion and capacity to learn new skills.
• Must be able to accurately and legibly record daily record information.
• Practically minded and be able to follow our standard operating procedures to ensure the continuity of operation of a busy production brewery.
• Must be able to follow directions exactly.
• Must have excellent cleaning and organizing standards.
• Efficient in the processing of all operations.
• Reporting to the Head Brewer & Production Manager
• Be capable of supporting TRB’s mission statement and brewing values.
Specific duties include:
The main responsibilities for this position include A LOT of cleaning, shovelling spent grain and generally maintaining the world class hygiene standards of our Brewhouse, cellars and yeast area daily. Setting up the tasting panel and cleaning down after. Complete keg washing and filling, scrubbing drains, and anything and everything else that our Head Brewer & Production Manager requires assistance with.
Brewhouse operations (milling, mashing, boiling, etc), cellar-related operations and some laboratory and QA analyses (cell counting, pitch rates, gravity checks etc) - packaging operations (keg cleaning and filling, carbonation, etc).
Oh, and you must be able to work the occasional weekend.
