I have to post this about the tournament experience that I had.....the dealer at our table made a mistake during a hand when the player sitting next to me, who was still in the hand, noticed the mistake the dealer had made and began to verbally abuse this dealer while telling her how to do her job. This DID NOT sit well with me and I entered the discussion trying to get the player to layoff the dealer. This sparked a verbal confrontation between the two of us. This player turned out to be a poker pro which was even more of a disappointment to me because if you are a "Poker Pro" you would think this person would know how to treat people. This incident unfortunately affected me and my game because in 10 years of playing poker tournaments this was the first I was sitting in a poker tournament and I did not care if I won or lost. But that's okay and here's why.....the poker dealer that was getting verbally abused came up to me during a break and said, "I want to thank you for sticking up for me that means a lot". Another poker dealer who had witnessed the incident also came up to me and said, " I wish there were more poker players like you sir". THAT meant more to me than cashing in this tournament!!!!

Official launch date for PALS 2014 Summer Long Fun Run (poker run) is May 1st, and is the 2nd Annual Putt, Pedal and Parade Around for PALS. Our fundraising event commences with the purchase of a Fun Run passport at any one of the participating business stops. Then over the course of the summer Fun Run ride participants visit establishments in the passport and have their passport validated/stamped. On Saturday August 24th, event participants bring their passport to Grinnell and present them to draw their poker card hand. We are hoping to have our first organized Savannah Bar Crawl around July. We are working on a poker crawl that we are going to call "Luck of the Draw Bar Crawl". You will register like a race (online) and have your packet pick up at a designated bar on the day of the crawl. In your bag you will receive a map with cards, drink bucks, and a t-shirt. At each bar you will draw a card. The end venue is where we will collect everyones card and give first place to worst hand, second place to best hand, and third place to "Luck of the Draw" (we will draw a card out of a bag). This is only one of many bar crawl ideas we have...venues and charities will be named soon.

Happy Saturday everyone. I just wanted to let you know, that The Jon Lovitz is under new management. Alot of things we have realized were not up to the standard that a club like The Lovitz should be. There were alot of things that needed to change. We are changing those things, and doing ALOT of upgrades. Converting the 3rd Floor into a Lounge for people to come and have cocktails and drinks, have food and relax. We just brought on a MAJOR talent booker who has handled the improv amongst many other clubs so we will be bringing major acts in and I (Jon Lovitz) will start performing again at the club. I would like to sincerely thank you all for supporting me, my club and my team. I would also like to ask you all what are some things you would like to see done differently? What are some things you would like us to add or do? Do not feel shy, i wont be offended. We want this to be the best place in Hollywood for you to come too so please help us make this place a better place for everyone involved.
