#Syria #Homs #A'abil This horrific story was posted on the "World Organization for the Defense of Human Rights" page along with a video. I've stated from the beginning that I won't post extraordinarily graphic images here. Men are capable of acts of violence that are truly unimaginable.

"A'abil, Homs, 25-03-2013: This is the latest massacre to be carried out by regime forces and Hezbollah mercenaries near the village of A'abil in southern Homs. Most of the 18 victims were young children, women and elderly people. The youngest victim was aged one, the oldest 70, with the killers handcuffing and torturing the victims before using knives and machetes to slaughter them, after which they set their bodies alight.

According to witnesses, the regime forces, shabiha and Hezbollah mercenaries had stormed the village in an attempt to capture it, but were repulsed by FSA fighters there. In retaliation, as they left the village, they seized two families, the Al Ahmad and Al Mahmoud families, consisting mostly of women, young children and elderly people, at the Qunfai checkpoint.

After handcuffing all the family members, including the children, and subjecting them to grotesque torture, the regime troops and their accomplices slaughtered them with knives and machetes, with some suggestions that a number were also beaten around the head with rocks, before setting their bodies on fire. Nobody from the two families escaped alive.

The adult victims whose remains have been positively identified so far have been named as:

2. Hawash Ahmad, aged 65
3. Nuzha Mahmoud, aged 70
4. Mahmoud Mahmoud, aged 45
5. Khadra Ahmed, aged 42
6. Huda Mahmoud, aged 28
7. Fouad Mahmoud, aged 37
8. Hamida Mahmoud, aged 36
9. Alzia Ahmad, aged 35

The child victims positively identified have been named as:

11. Haider Al Ahmad, aged 2
12. Sajida Al Ahmad, aged 1
13. Ahmed Mahmoud, aged 9
The caretaker of the Al Bouz farm near A'abil, named as Abu Said, who originally came from Hama, was also killed by the regime forces, along with his family - his wife and five young children - three boys and two young girls. They have not yet been positively identified by name. The two girls' bodies have not yet been located."
