I just ordered a pair of Mizuno Wave Inspire 9 running shoes. This shoe had some great reviews and will be my first pair of Mizuno running shoes. Thank goodness for Road Runner Sports VIP program and their "90 day Test Run." If I don't like them they can be exchanged.

Can Chasers,
It’s time for more fun and barrel racing excitement as we return to Cullman agcenter this weekend. Please note that we will begin exhibition barrels at 9AM sharp on Saturday March 30, so we can get our competition runs underway at 1PM CST. This is a co-sanctioned event with AL02 and we expect a big crowd. Please plan to come early so we can offer everyone exhibition runs that want them. We need to get this event underway at 1PM. All stalls are sold out, but don’t let that keep you from racing with us. The barn space allows many to gather in the staging area, and we allow warm-up exercises in the main arena while the tractor is dragging.
We will have barrel practice on Friday night from 6:30PM til 9PM. Cost is $10 per rider with unlimited runs. You are invited to come out and enjoy some hot-laps.
The weatherman is calling for a warming trend as we get closer to the weekend and we will hope for clear skies and warm temperatures for Saturday. With barrel racers coming from Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee, and $1400 added in prize money, we are sure to have another sizzling barrel race.
Another of our horse family members has passed away. Paul Cooper of MS went to be with the Lord last week following a lengthy illness. He will be missed by all who have crossed his path. An accomplished barrel horse trainer, Paul was known for his ability to take the troubled horses and transform them into winners. Those who knew him in the early days speak of his showing up at local events with a trailer load of bad actors. During the days before 4-divisional payouts, it was common for Paul to take the first 3-4 places with horses he was rehabilitating. He had a knack for knowing how to make adjustments to headgear that worked on a horse that no one else could get around the pattern. He didn’t just compete, he was a winner. From a runner-up finish at the famed Fort Smith Futurity, winning at the Oklahoma City futurity, and racing to the top as an NBHA Senior World Champion, Paul proved he could win against the very best in the sport. A gritty competitor who hated to lose, Paul was conversely known for his gracious acts of kindness. If you had a problem, all you had to do was ask Paul for his thoughts and he was always willing to share from his bank of wisdom. While Paul had many winners in his stable, he used to say that it was Ryons Vapor Trail that took his racing to the highest level. A close second was the big Zero-bred gelding he purchased from Pam and Denie Tucker from which he continued to win many barrel races when most would have long ago turned in their saddle for a rocking chair. A top competitor into his seventies, Paul would say ride hard, race every step of the way, and never look back! That’s Paul Cooper wisdom!
Remember, if you have spent more time pushing a wheel barrow than riding your horse, or bailing flood water out of your barn, or trying to figure out how to get your leg up in the stirrup after gaining a few extra pounds over winter, that we are so blessed to be able to do that which we so thoroughly enjoy.
Be safe in your travels. We look forward to seeing you this weekend.
Happy Trails,
Randy and lana

Inside draw for Red Cadeaux in Dubai World Cup
The 2011 Melbourne Cup runner-up Red Cadeaux has drawn an inside gate for his crack at Saturday's Group I Dubai World Cup (2000m) at Meydan.
Red Cadeauxdefeated a smart field of international stayers in the Group I Hong Kong Vase (2400m) at Sha Tinin December but is among the outsiders in Dubai World Cup betting at $21.
The seven-year-old's trainer Ed Dunlop chose barrier two for Red Cadeaux at the Dubai World Cup barrier draw, which the British horseman said was the best of the available gates.
"I didn't have many options left when I went up so I went for two as I thought it would be better on the inside than way out wide," Dunlop told the Emirates Racing Authority.
"I'm not too worried though as I've got a world class jockey in charge of the whole show."
Godolphin galloper Hunter's Light is the $4.50 favourite in the TAB's market on the world's richest race after his trainer Saeed bin Suroor selected barrier four for the five-year-old, who won the Group I Al Maktoum Challenge (2000m) at Meydan last time out.
Hunter's Light is one of three Godolphin runners in the 2013 Dubai World Cup field with African Story and last year's winner Monterosso also in the field.
Australian-bound entire Animal Kingdom drew barrier 12 in the 13-horse field but trainer Graham Motion said the Kentucky Derby winner would be better served out wide.
"To tell the truth I was glad (barrier) one, two and three were already taken," Motion said. "I talked to (injured former rider) Ramon Dominguez and he said that we wouldn't want to see him caught on the inside.
"Hopefully Joel Rosario will have him in a good spot. Our tactics won't change and he's capable of coming from off of it if he has to. After all we won the Derby from post 16."
The Dubai World Cup will be shown on both Sky and TVN at 5:05am on Sunday.
