Had a great day yesterday. It was really good to see my family and Tabletop day was really fun. Of course, now my sleep schedule is very messed up but it was totally worth it.

Today, I went by Sci-Fi City, which back in the day was known to myself, C Scott Bragg, Gary Hone, Daniel Allen Butler and Mikey Beyer as Enterprise 1701. Saturdays are, officially, their Warhammer tournament days. For various reasons, most of them having to do with never having the spare three to five hundred bucks it would take to put together a decent starter army, I've never gotten involved with Warhammer.
Today, though, I was mostly looking to see what Superhero RPG's are currently available (apparently, Mutants & Masterminds has fallen out of favor, and Champions seems to be the current front runner), but I had a moment that made me just stop for a second, when I walked over to the game tables, and one of the tables looking like it belonged at the VFW. A bunch of guys in their fifties and sixties, all sitting around in their army ball caps and T-Shirts. I got a little closer, I saw the British and French flags on the 3d terrain, and the dozens of miniature units. Napoleonics.
I have no idea what system they were using. Something newish, at a guess, that relied heavily on cards and custom D6's. The units were on bases, and pink flags were attached to the bases via magnets as hit markers.
And the guys were arguing, and smack talking, and doing every thing war gamers were doing 20 some years ago, when Gary, Dan and I were in the back room, navigating our way through Night City, trying our best not to get taken down by the Cyberpsycho squads on general principal, while Scott tormented us with his latest evil plot.
I kind of want to be them when I'm in my 50's

Lucasarts died 10 years ago when they decided to fire all their best designers, stop having any original ideas, and churn out nothing but repetitive Star Wars games. Disney is going to continue licensing out Star Wars, and literally every decent Star Wars game made in the past ten years have been done by a licensed company (Bioware, etc.)
