My husband and I believe that there will be a literal seven years tribulation period followed by a one thousand millennium period. The Lord Jesus will call his Church, the Bride to the Marriage of the Lamb in Heaven immediately before the tribulation period. We believe what the Bible tells us about creation, i.e. God created the World in six days. We believe that God will honour His promises to Israel and indeed has started to with the restoration of this nation in its current unbelief – the dry bones prophesy in Ezekiel 37. However, the majority of the remaining promises to Israel will not be fulfilled until His life is breathed into the dry bones at the start of the millennium period, where Jesus will rule in Jerusalem. We are against the ecumenical movement on the Isle of Man and world wide because it embraces churches who do not believe in justification by faith alone through the only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ as the only way to be reconciled to God. To have association with these churches would be to infer our acceptance of their errors and deceive an unbeliever. The building is not the Church. To explain what the Bible means by the Church would take a long time however see our note on "True Church", but suffice to say that the Church is the Bride of Christ and consists of all those who have acknowledged that they are unworthy before God, cannot do anything to save themselves and have put their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ whose perfect precious blood has washed them clean. Roman Catholicism and Anglicanism, we believe that the prophecy of the parable of the Mustard Seed is being fulfilled before our very eyes. The mustard seed is meant to grow into a shrub spreading humbly outwards. But the seed in this parable unnaturally grows into a large tree, which represents the “nominal” church of today, grand and full of pride, accumulating riches and money. It also harbours the “birds of the air”. We are left in no doubt what the “birds” stand for because this has been interpreted by our Lord in the parable of the Sower. Birds represent evil and as the artificial mustard tree harbours the birds, so the “nominal” church, in the form of the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England harbour evil preachers who deny the very Truths of the Gospel.
