March was busy as usual here at Studio B Mastering. We had the honor of working on albums for Charleston punk/indie band Mountains of Earth, Columbia bands Ned Durrett and the Kindly Gents, Stagbriar, and Brent Lundy, all had albums mastered with us, Oklahoma rockers Chaotic Resemblance, singer/songwriter and Charlotte native Maddie Shuler, Calebs Bridge, Charleston atmospheric rock band Carnaval, blues-rock singer Michael Tracy, Raleigh classic indie rock Goner, and Country Americana band Clifton's Ford from Asheville. We also had the pleasure of doing singles for well known act Sunny Ledfurd, Charlotte's Josh Sawyer Band, and Olivia Albertson.

Monday night league is over for another year. After having a shoot out for first place for the women and one for third place in youth the results were announced. Traditional bow was Brad Winters, Jeremy Winters, and Craig Foster. Youth was Ethan Albertson, Alex Ball, and Steven Lucas. Mens was Delbert David, Steve Albertson, and Billy Thompson. The womens was Teresa Lucas, Mary Foster, and Tanya Winters. Most improved was Clinton Charles. We had a fun filled 10 weeks of shooting.

Hunger-Fullness: Striving for satiety – Part 2

What did you notice this past week about your hunger/satiety?

Yesterday while picking up a few things at Albertson’s 10% off senior day the gentleman in front of me stated he keeps pistachios in his pocket for the long line. This is a real example of boredom eating, not related to physical hunger.

A practical tool to help you tune in:
Use the following Hunger Scale to assess your physical need for food:
0 = Starving
10 = Thanksgiving Stuffed
Sit with a straight back, put your right hand on your stomach (left side felt just below the ribs), breath and ask yourself: “How hungry am I?”
No response: Check how long it has been since you ate a meal or snack. Physical hunger can occur every 3-5 hours during the day.
After a meal repeat the process? Do you need to stop eating sooner? Do you need to learn to leave food on the plate when your body signals satiety which is a few bites less than full – it’s just comfortable?

Slow your eating to listen and learn what your physical body is telling you. Distinguish physical cues from emotional or mental cues to eat. Then choose foods to nourish your body. You can always take more when you are truly physically hungry for more!

Eating activities to help you tune-in while eating:
• Set the table
• Turn the TV off
• Use smaller plates (8” for dinner, dessert plates for snacks)
• Use portion serving utensils (available at restaurant supply stores)
• Eat at the dining room/kitchen table
• Put your fork down between bites
• Eat Mindfully – be aware of texture, flavor, and savor each bite slowly
• Chew, chew, chew (yes, this is a good habit that aides digestion, and naturally slows us down)
• Wait 20 minutes before eating seconds
• Your ideas_____________________

For those of you who know my children, you know they LOVE stickers. I made the mistake of letting them put stickers on their side window of "Black Beauty". Needless to say it got waaaaaaaay out of control with too many stickers and NONE of the Albertson stickers will come off. So I had to re-tint the back two windows to get them off. My OCD has calmed down now that the car is no longer over ran with stickers. Sean did an amazing job and it only cost me $40. Need a tint or car detail referral let me know.
