So the gay community wishes to marry one another. Ok, first start a church that supports your beliefs, second petition to have it stand in our court systems. Third use the donation money for gay rights to start said church. Forth go get married and get out of the news already so we can get back to our country falling apart. Stop asking for other churches to accomodate your needs and break 2000 years of tradition thats selfish, NEVER ask our government to marry for they have enough say so about what we can and can not do.. Regulating who can marry need not be an issue if a church does it. Seperate church and state, leave them out of it. To start your own religion is your American right and pursuit of happiness. The gay community is fighting a dumb fight. I will sign a petion for a church to been seen has an equal to our existing system used by christians. NO P

Garbage In, Garbage Out
Back in the 1970s, when taking some computer courses at university, I learned a very important maxim about computer programming. The saying was "Garbage in, garbage out." It meant that if the information that you programmed into a computer was faulty, illogical or nonsensical, it would produce equally worthless results.
The same goes for the most powerful computer ever created, the human brain. If you put good information and thought patterns into that organic computer, you are going to receive valuable information in return. One of the best things about the computer in your head is that you are one of its primary programmers and can program it to produce better thinking patterns which will produce better behavior that results in a highly functional and successful lifestyle.
That's why it is actually psychologically healthier to disagree with someone without name calling. Unfortunately, switching the conversation from the subject under discussion to a personal attack is a common tactic by many who are not selective about inputting quality information and thought patterns into their own minds. That's because they have already accepted a "garbage" program called "stubborn pride." This program allows them to believe that they must win at all costs because of pride even when the facts are not on their side. It's a type of pride that is really nothing to be proud of.
Giving into a mental stubborn pride subroutine by slandering the one who disagrees with you by insults instead of really discussing the issue at hand only clouds your own mind. This occurs because you subconsciously train your own brain through your behavior to look at people and issues untruthfully and dishonestly.
Neuroscientists believe that if you allow yourself to think and behave this way long enough, virtually permanent patterns can become etched in your brain. That means you actually become dumber. Dumber? How you might ask? Well, it's as if you were once able to mentally play chess very well and now your IQ has deteriorated to the point that you can now barely play checkers.
In practical application in a debate or argument, insults actually work against you. That's because insults are such a volatile form of emotional revenge that will most likely upset the person you disagree with so much that they will end up not hearing any valid points you may present on the subject in question.
If you have allowed this to happen in your own life, it's not too late to repair your mental computer with some quality programming. Start by forgiving and agreeing to disagree respectfully with those who think differently about important subjects and issues. Additionally, really look at all the facts of an issue and stop letting stubborn pride keep you from admitting when you are wrong, your organic computer will start working better. If you are married and apply this programming method and reboot your relationship, you not only will regain your ability to play chess again, you will probably not have to spend any more nights on a cold sofa playing solitaire.
"Stubborn Pride and Prejudice are the parents that proudly give birth to childish ignorance."
Robert Betancourt
