Nerd alert: Bioshock Infinite was a good game. But it was very flawed. The only way it improved upon Bioshock 1's absolutely stunning story was in the sentimental department ( and even thats debatable ). Vigors felt out of place in the context of the story and the sudden transfer from thriving city to war torn environment was sudden and lazy. I felt often times like I was walking through a museum. While the story was interesting the enemies weren't fun to fight (Handy men especially) The item management sucked (Halo inspired weapon system?!) And running to vending machines in the middle of a fight to buy ammo and health...poor design. There was absolutely no choice. Period. You cannot effect the end of the game in anyway (as a matter of fact the plot uses a limited understanding of Quantum string theory to tell you that you cannot affect the outcome I.E. the coin toss sequence) It was a pretty to look at shooting gallery that ushered you towards an admittedly phenomenally written ending. Sorry for the nerd out.

OMG... Bioshock Infinite. OMG.

I gotta say.. Female companions are usually a drag.. But Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite hooks you up with health, ammo and money even in the midst of battle..
Most usefully cute sexy female companion ever.

BioShock Infinite wäre witziger, würde Elizabeth wie ein Mädchen werfen und nie Bookers Hand treffen.

I added a cosplay plan for this year, which should be fairly simple. Robert Lucete from Bioshock Infinite. I believe Caroline Elizabeth Kruczynski is being Rosalind Lucete. I'm even gonna make the "heads or tails" chalkboard :D

My thoughts on Bioshock, and where it is going/where it can go from here.
*Spoilers are here, so read at your own risk. Also, kinda long*
Bioshock is a franchise that has given us some of the greatest stories that we will ever see in a game. They lay out twists and turns, ups and downs, black and white--yet the gray always makes an appearance. We are presented with characters, ones whom we can describe in simple, powerful words. Booker DeWit, Jack, Dr. Tenenbaum, Elizabeth, Ryan, Fontaine, Delta--to name a few--all of these characters have impacted us. We shared every step of the story with our protagonists, and we are different people because of it.
So where does Infinite leave us? Elizabeth, standing alone in a river. She, and her other versions of herself, had just drown Comstock. Or was it Booker DeWitt? Both I guess. For me, that final note right at the end of the game, that final note on the piano, is Comstock's death. His final note in life. Comstock is dead. But so is Booker DeWitt.
Bioshock Infinite was made with the idea that the end was finite. It was an end that ended all stories, all universes. With Comstock dead, Bioshock Infinite the game no longer exists. Because there is no Comstock to fight against, nor even a Booker to do the fighting. That small branch of human history got snipped away, leaving only Elizabeth. She is now the sole guardian of this secret. She is the only one who holds the key, like she always has. Elizabeth is now our protagonist.
Let's say she goes to Paris, like Booker promised, like how she always wanted to. What does she do there? What can she do there? Because the interesting thing about this woman is that she can still open tears. She still has the thimble on her finger. Let's say someone learns that she has this ability, someone who is very interested in the idea of multiple universes. Could this be where the next Bioshock takes off? Or could Elizabeth become our new protagonist? Could we travel down her road of life, seeing all of the lighthouses along the way? I certainly hope so, because who she was and who she is now is the difference of night and day, of black and white--but whose to say that the area of gray doesn't decide to creep back into our lives?
P.S. I've written this with the entire Bioshock universe in my head, so a lot of things might resonate with you. I hope it does. Anyway, that's my piece. What do you guys think?
