Last day in Vegas and it's pouring rain & cold! I think a massage, haunted house, beer pong & more spending are on the cards (see what I did there?)
The Beatles Love Cirque Du Solei was amazing! If it was on again this week I would've seen it twice!
The next day we drove to Phoenix for the baseball. And by we, I mean I didn't let Nic drive at all because I was having so much fun. The baseball was great, and so was the hotel - only a couple of mins walk to the stadium.
Have been back in Vegas since, and my days (& nights) have consisted of
drinks (free for a couple of hours with a hot bartender @ Tao nightclub), gambling ($300 thanks to 3 card poker & the number 23 on roulette @ Margaretaville- love your work Buddy), rollercoasters & rides, a little more shopping, LOTS of buffets and just food in general, an amazing helicopter ride over Hoover damn, lake mead, the Grand Canyon (including lunch down in the canyon) & the strip, almost getting married (challenge failed, but wasn't for a lack of trying to find an open chapel at 8am that would do a wedding without a marriage license for under $200), hearing the sexiest accent ever (Oklahoma y'all), a very disappointing chippendales & hooters, and lots of sleep!
Thanks a ton to Nic, Ed & Lesie for an awesome time - Ed, lets go nuts on our last night!
Austin tomorrow for a Richieless Bon Jovi, followed by MORE food & celeb stalking on the Top Chef cruise - cant believe its almost over!
Till next time Vegas

Great day Saturday. Met up with my old navy brother Ralph for lunch. Have not seen him for 28 years. would have made the trip here just for that! Went to redrock canyon Sunday and had a nice picnic lunch at willow springs. Back to vegas, and met up with my brother in law Duane and had a great dinner. Free time today. Maybe another poker tourney? Off to Laughlin tomorrow.

Spring is finally here in Northeast Iowa! Spring is a time for new adventures and more outdoor hobbies to partake in, but what did soldiers in the Civil War do in their free time?.....
When they were not drilling, which made up a considerable portion of their time in camp, soldiers passed the time writing letters, playing games like checkers, dominoes and poker, drinking, smoking, whittling, making music and praying. One soldier summed it up when he wrote to his wife, "Soldiering is 99% boredom and 1% sheer terror."

From 1979 to 1990, I was either too young or too apathetic to care about global politics, but I find it funny that every other American is saying, "RIP Thatcher," while every Brit I know is singing, "Ding Dong the Witch is Dead." Just goes to show you how little we know of other country's politics. My clearest recollections of the Thatcher years we when she was lampooned on HBO's "Not Necessarily the News."
