Year Ending Announcement.

So with the end of year coming closer, we're down to the final 3 events before the Final Game. So here's a breakdown of the next few weeks.

Elections for the Poker Society Committee:
Next week, we will be choosing our new members for the committee. The 4 positions are: President, Secretary, Treasurer and PRO/Equipment Officer. All positions are fair game to any who wish to run. If there is contention for a position, the applicants will have to stand and give a 2 min speech as to why they think they should be chosen. Then voting will commence. If interested, please approach any of the current com. members either before or on the night with your name and desired position.

This and next Tuesday will be regular points events. The final Tuesday (23th Apr) will be the Final Game Satellite for 2 places (17 and 18) at the Final Game Table.
Details on the Sat:
The stacks for these will be of a predetermined size and will not be related to that persons placing in the rankings (if on the points table at all)
Stack size: 5000 (subject to change, pending the next 2 weeks)
The Sat is eligible to those OUTSIDE the Top 16 players on the League. 16ers cannot play the Sat, no exceptions.
The Sat is open to all other player on the table (besides the 16ers) and any other persons wishing to play on the night.
The seats will go to 1st and 2nd place.
If you are playing the Sat, make sure you will be available for the Final Game date below.
Contact details will be needed from 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th for the following reason.
In the unlikely event that one/both winners of the Sat become eligible to play the Final Game due to player dropouts and table shifting, then the places will go to 3rd/4th place and they will be notified immediately.

Final Game Details:
Date/Time: 27th of April (Saturday) 12pm reg 1pm dealing sharp
Place: Outside the Roost at 12pm
Structure: Pending full table details from the 16th.
Persons playing: the 16ers as of the 16th of Apr and the 2 Satellite Winners. (see above)
Prizepool will be announced closer to the date as 3 more events have yet to be played and collected.
Chip-to-Point Ratio: 125 to each point (subject to change, pending next 2 weeks)

Stacks sizes will be correlated with the players accumulated points.
Seating will be allocated as fairly as possible for players.
The above date has been set and cannot be changed.

IMPORTANT: Any player not available for the above date must notify the Committee ASAP. This is so that the points table can be re-arranged and players outside the 16ers that are now eligible to play can be notified. IMPORTANT

A player cannot sell their stack to another player nor can a player play anothers stack in their place, regardless of permission/deals. If you cannot attend the event, the stack will be removed from the table, and the points table shifted, no exceptions.

Calling on all Local 773 Members! As many of you know we have several fundraising events coming up in the next few months we have TLC Trivia night and the Bass Tournament to benefit TLC in Carterville who helps challenged and disabled children receive the therapy they need here in Southern Illinois Free of Charge, and we have the Edward M. Smith Scholarship Golf Tournament and the Laborers' Poker Run all to benefit the Connell F. Smith / Homer Brown Education and Scholarship Fund. This fund has awarded over 325 scholarships throughout the past few years to Laborers, their children, and grandchildren. It would be greatly appreciated if our membership can come together and each member bring in just one item to the next Union Meeting. Items can include just about anything. We will combine these items into baskets for raffles for the above two events. If you have any questions please call the office anytime. Ideas are not limited to the following: lotions, candles, body spray, perfume, koozies, hats, glassware, beer, wine, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, games, toys, golf accessories, playing cards, household kitchen items, home decor items, pictures, pictures frames, outside decor, coolers, sporting memoralbilia, tickets, gift cards, sporting accessories. If you bring it we will find a place for it. If every member brings in just one item we will have the ability to create some awesome gift baskets because we have a large, strong, and caring 773 membership.

We greatly appreciate your consideration and any donations would be greatly appreciated both these causes are a wonderful opportunity to enhance the lives of children here in Southern Illinois.
