I think that the nudist wedding is perhaps the rawest, albeit truest expression of love, free from any form of extravagance or pretentiousness. Rather than attempt to display their wealth through the many bustles of silky crinoline on a freakishly expensive wedding dress, the nudist couple's clothes (or lack thereof) symbolize two things:
1. We need not be ashamed of the human body. (Well; I guess that's why wedding dresses are getting more revealing as the days go by, but I digress)
2. Your wedding is a sacred union between two people. It isn't some fashion competition, where you outdo other brides in the game of beauty and status. Coming without any of the glamorous yet extravagant trappings of the fashion industry, the nudist bride comes as she is. Not only does it saves several thousand dollars because you don't need to buy some flashy outfit; It's also a step towards gender equality. Think about it - Why is it that traditionally in Western society (since the Victorian Era at least), men never outshine the women? While women's clothes are more form-fitting, eye-catching, and sensual, men's clothes are... Well, "modest and goody goody" in comparison. (compare a suit and tie with a slinky backless gown and you will get what I mean) The reason for this is because apparently, a gentleman should never attempt to outshine the ladies, for it is them to whom "beauty" should be the monopoly of. But of course; there's a logical reason for this. The last thing patriarchy wants is for men to be flaunting skin "like a woman", which is why Western men are in general discouraged from showing as much skin as the average Western woman. In short, patriarchy does not want men to look "vulnerable", since showing skin is generally associated with vulnerability; So while the patriarchs may say that "a gentleman should never attempt to upstage the ladies", what they're actually saying is that "a man should never debase himself to the level of a woman by flaunting his body in the same way a woman flaunts hers."
But by both bride and groom bearing equal amounts of skin and wearing the same thing (their birthday suit), both genders are equally naked, and equally vulnerable. It shows that she and the groom stand on equal terms, and is an acknowledgement of the fact that both the male and female form are equally beautiful, and that the male form is in no way aesthetically inferior to the female form.

Had a crazy, wet, fun morning run in the foothills with Rachel L Corson, Ryan Anderson and Derek Call! We girls started early to hike the hardest parts of the run and the guys started a half an hour after us. They came flying by like they were in a 5k after mile 4 and they were whooping and hollering! It was awesome! Started to rain the last couple of miles which I loved. The city lights twinkled below, the ground was crazy technical and it was a game not to face plant running downhill in the dark! AWESOME!
