I am so pleased that only 90 million Americans are out of the labor force. This recovery we are experiencing is so impressive. Furthermore, I am so happy that the White House is taking money out of Medicare and funneling it to Obamacare. As a result, seniors across the nation are unable to get treatment for cancer. Thanks to President Obama, our nation is thriving. I would love to pay more taxes and I want that money to continue to be spent on government programs with reckless abandon. It's not only patriotic ... it just makes sense to spend more in order to decrease our nation's bulging deficits! This is what any normal American family would do if they were in the midst of a financial crisis, right? Oh boy, I am so glad everything is alright in our nation today. P.S. - Isn't it awesome that students in public schools across the Greater Boston area are being taught to put condoms on cucumbers in elementary school? Man, that is long overdue!

In 1952, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sultan of Sokoto and the leader of the Northern Peoples Congress (NPC) made the following request to the Nigerian Colonial Seceretary, Mr. Oliver Lyttleton: “If you want us (the North) to be part of this Nigeria you have in mind, then we want 50% of the membership of the National Assembly.” It would be recalled that as a result of the elections of 1954, there were 162 seats in the Nigerian National Assembly. Out of this, the South had 83 seats (51.23%) and the North had 79 seats (48.76%), including the Yoruba people of Kwara. This means that if the Kwara people were not lumped with the North, they would still have less number of seats than 79, since this was based on population. This shows that the South of Nigeria has always been more populous than the North of Nigeria. But Sultan Bello, as evident from this 1952 request, has a different idea. If one considers his aristocratic background, one would have an understanding of his fear of “pure” democracy. Aristocracy is “the government of a country by a small group of people especially a hereditary nobility” which is “a group believed to be superior to all others of the same kind.” Thus for the Sultan to seek to dominate by any means necessary, would seem natural to him. In 1957, he refused the independence of Nigeria because he insisted the North was not ready. But the North was ready when he got what he wanted, and more, before Nigerian Independence in 1960. The British overlords, in order to assuage Sultan Bello’s fears and put Nigeria in his control, created in 1959, 312 seats for the Nigerian National Assembly without any election or new Census. Out of this 312, the North was allocated 174 and the South 138 in the anticipation of the Parliamentary Political System being put in place for Nigeria’s independence. Sultan Bello asked for 50% of the seats in the National Assembly, he got 55.7%. Suddenly, an apartheid system was put in place as the majority South, became the minority and the minority North became the majority. This is where the future of Nigeria was unmade, and the seed for the destruction of the Nigerian Federalism was sowed. This development gave unburnished confidence to Sultan Bello who declared on October 12, 1960, in an interview with The Parrot, just days after independence the following words: “This New Nation called Nigeria, should be an estate of our great grand father, Uthman Dan Fodio. We must ruthlessly prevent a change of power. We use the minorities in the North as willing tools, and the South, as conquered territory and never allow them to rule over us, and never allow them to have control over their future.” YEMI OYEYEMI

I understand why some of you have left the Nation of Islam or, rather, the Mosque. Believe me, I do. This is why I, personally, never refer to one as a ‘hypocrite’ simply because he or she has left the Mosque. I understand. To say that this journey in the Mosque is not easy would be an understatement: it is a very difficult endeavor to try to walk with and conform our life – mental, spiritual, and physical – to that prescribed by the long awaited Messiah and his Apostle. In the world, you can do as YOU please, say what YOU want to say, however YOU want to say it; and you are obliged only to live up to your OWN example(s), not that of someone else, even if (or, ESPECIALLY if) that “someone else” is the Apostle of God. Once you leave the Mosque, you are no longer obligated to “Walk your post in a Perfect Manner,” keeping ALWAYS on the alert, nor are you anymore burdened with the anxiety over the imperfect ways in which you/we are bound to walk our post and the consequences. No more political and social stigma; no more papers; no more hard-nosed lieutenants; no more striving with our life and our wealth; no more risking of life and limb; no more…I confess that over my 23 years, I have at times sat at my widow looking out at the world and at you, envying your “Freedoms”.
Then, I come to my damn senses.
See, I know that you are free from the burden of the Cross the we in the Mosque voluntarily bare, but I know that you are also free of the hope that we have in acquiring the Crown that is own aim. Your burden is light, but your reward is small. The road of righteousness is narrow and burdensome, while the road of Satan’s world camouflaged as “Freedom” is broad and unfulfilling. This “freedom” is fool’s gold.
We, the Muslim Followers of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad under the Divine Guidance of the Honorable Brother Minister Farrakhan, have VOLUNTARILY chosen to bare these burdens. Why, you may ask, would anyone CHOOSE a 1-ton cross to bare on their back, when there is the perfectly acceptable option of a 1-pound cross that they can instead wear around their neck? Well, these two options lead to vastly different outcomes. Manley P. Hall, premier scholar of the Ancient and Modern Mysteries, perfectly described the thinking, situation, and destiny of those of us who continue to strive with our life and our wealth to walk our post in a perfect manner within the Mosque:
“The possession of the occult keys to human salvation through the knowledge of self is the goal for which the wise of all ages have LABORED. It was the hope of possessing these secret formulae that strengthened the candidates who struggled valiantly through the dangers and disappointments of the ancient initiations, sometimes actually giving their lives in the quest of truth. The initiations of the pagan Mysteries were not child’s play…The tortures of initiation and the severe mental and physical tests were intended to serve as a process for eliminating those unfit to be entrusted with the secret powers which the priests understood and communicated to the new initiates at the time of their ‘raising’.” (“Melchizedek and the Mystery of Fire”)
Salvation…knowledge of self…labored…struggled…dangers…disappointments…giving their lives…truth…mental and physical tests…secret powers…raising.
Yeah, We the Muslim’s in the Mosque are the heirs to the ancient Initiates.
So, as you in the world watch me watch you through my window, don’t feel sorry for me. Your burden is light and mine is heavy, but your reward is small and mine…well, it’s grand: Godhood.
