The day I have dreaded has finally arrived!! Cleveland Indians opening day. To die-hard Tribe fans, this day is almost sacred to them- they skip going to Mass & pull their kids out of school for it (saw it on the news). I can certainly understand love & passion for the event (I'm a die-hard Miami Heat/ football fan), but why oh why do they have to clog up morning rush hour traffic @ 6:30 am, esp. since the game doesn't start until 4pm? I-71 was backed all the way to the turnpike this morn! Just my luck: the game will go into extra innings & the same traffic I encountered this morn will greet me tonight as I head to work. On top of this, I STILL can't find my driver's license & my male tom cat has reached that stage where he is "marking" his territory throughout my house. Moir casa smells like the side wall of a BP gas station! I wish someone had warned me about this: I NEVER would have gotten a male kitten!! Gonna be a long day - Good Grief!!!

I think when you have kids and they are still growing and learning, it's important to have schedules...meals together, weekends with family and Moms that are home and awake and out of bed paying attention to them and not some passing guy that will always be nothing but a playmate for the kids... and then when they are all grown up.. The Adults can act like children again... but at least wait till your kids are grown up... all of them not just one that can babysit or just be a warm body present while the kids are out of control ..The time goes by too fast and they should KNOW they are important.. more important than a man, a party, even a friend... cause if your friends can condone teenage behavior from Mothers with kids ...then they aren't friends and hopefully, they aren't parents yet... Sorry...but seeing way too much of this crap happening, boyfriends that come first over and over. Or big sisters being the Mommies.. ( I know, I was one, however I liked it)... if you didn't want kids, you shouldn't have had them and if you did anyway....then show them what a family is... I learned the hard way at 26 years old.... I think Ive earned the right to voice my opinion....

Most AWESOME Kindy/Year 1 Music Class today to round off Term 1...we listened to the whole of Vivaldi Four Seasons, whilst playing a musical card game called fiddlesticks so we learnt all about the String Section of the Orchestra and pretended to play violins/violas/cellos/double basses, PLUS I introduced the children to Vincent van Gogh and a flip cube of his FAB paintings and matched them to the Spring/Summer/Autumn movements of the Vivaldi then we lay down quietly for Winter. Who would believe that 6 "post-school/end of term "tired from clock change" children" would happily listen and participate in 45 mins of beautiful classical music? These kids are ALL Kindermusik graduates so it was EASY PEASY:))))))))

Carolyn Maloney has proposed a bill that would make it a federal crime to exercise your Second Amendment right to buy a pistol unless you first bought a government-approved liability insurance policy. Failure to comply could land you a $10,000 fine. Rep. Maloney claims that she’s received death threats over the bill. Let’s hope those aren’t serious and that they stop immediately. First of all, civilized people don’t threaten other people. And secondly, this bill has about as much chance of survival in the GOP House as a deer has around Ted Nugent. The only way it could ever get past both Congress and the Supreme Court is if Democrats took over the House -- and if they rewrote it to call the $10,000 fine a “tax.”
