For those of you who have been keeping up with news on pokemon x and y, the new pokemon that looks like mewtwo, they have not said that it is mewtwo. In fact all they have said is that it shares similar traits and that it may have a connection to mewtwo.

Time for me to be nostalgic for a moment.

As a child, I:

Woke up early on Saturday to watch Spider-Man, X-men, and Batman.

Was playing outside every moment that I could while the sun was out.

Had bubble gum games.

Watched Rugrats, Doug, Boy Meets World, Animaniacs, Animorphs, Aaaah! Real Monsters!, Wild Thornberries, and Hey Arnold!

Thought that the Nintendo 64 was the coolest game console ever!

Was careful when I went online because it was new, and scary.

Played Cops and Robbers.

Read a lot because all I wanted was to win a gold medal at the end of the year through Accelerated Reading.
Rarely had fast food for dinner.

Played Charades when the power went out, and didn't freak out when I couldn't watch tv.

Collected Pokemon and DBZ cards.

Walked, skated, or rode my bike to my friends's houses.
Watched all the Mortal Kombat movies.

Loved eating outside.
Rode my bike barefoot.

Swam in rivers, creeks, or lakes.
Watched the Simpsons religiously.
Called my friends at home when I wanted to talk to them, asking the parents who answered the phone politely.
Envied the kid who had the crayon box with the sharpener.
Coudln't wait until I was old enough to vote.
Wanted SO MUCH to win the contest that let me get as many toys as I wanted from Toys-R-Us in a certain amount of time.
Wanted to go on Legends of the Hidden Temple.
Never thought 15 was old enough to be a parent.
Strived to earn good grades in school, and worried whenever report cards came out.
Respected my teachers, and listened to what they had to say.
Looked to my teachers for inspiration. (Thank you to my 1st grade teacher, Mrs. Smeadstead. You inspired me to pursue a degree in science. RIP.)
Wore large earphones and was careful with my portable CD player while outside.

One other thing: As a child, when my parents said "No" to something, they meant it! As a child, I never thought about killing fellow classmates. As a child, I never plotted to kill my parents for grounding me. As a child, I was treated like a child, and not an adult.

There is something wrong with the children of the world these days. It is time for parents to BE parents!
