So after completing a bone scan on Friday, we have had a couple of days away from hospital and tests and got to go shopping and catch up with friends which was very nice. Mitchell with have an anesthetic tomorrow so that samples of his bone marrow can be taken for testing. We will see our dr on Wednesday for the results so far and we are hoping that the tests so far are all clear. More specialised testing is required to complete the staging process but we will need to wait for these to be confirmed. After many discussions with our dr, and with her full support, we have decided to delay these tests for a few weeks and will return home later this week. We are all very excited as we have decided to take a family holiday to Japan. For those of you that have been following Mitchell's story for while you will know that it has been Mitchell's dream to travel to Japan for as long as we can remember and through Mitchell's Wish Auction and generous donations, the money needed to do this trip was raised last year and we have been waiting for Mitchell to be well enough to travel! These past few weeks have been incredibly difficult, with more difficult times ahead. We don't know what the future holds and we are certainly not giving up but Mitchell is really well right now and we feel the time is right do do this trip before commencing any further treatment. We plan to return with a mountain of souvenirs and an even bigger mountain of happy memories and ready to fight this monster again!
