When God created you, He deposited in you everything that you need in order to fulfill your calling. He gave you the desire and the ability. He equipped you with gifts and talents. No dream is too big. No challenge is too great.

What happens a lot of times is that people don’t recognize what’s been placed within them because at first it seems subtle. The gift may not be evident in the beginning. It starts out in seed form. But just like planting a seed and tending to it will help it grow and develop fruit, when you tend to the seeds inside of you, they will begin to produce. How do you tend to the seeds? By reading, studying and meditating on the Word of God. By following His commands and keeping Him first place in your life.

Always remember, even if you aren’t clear about God’s direction for your life, when You put Him first place, He promises to lead and guide you. As you draw close to Him, as you gain knowledge of Him, His power gives you everything that you need!
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father, thank You for giving me everything I need for life and godliness. I trust that as I draw close to You, You will reveal Yourself to me. I bless You today and honor You in everything I do in Jesus’ name. Amen.

It has surely been an exciting weekend! The Competition teams have been rehearsing since October and really showed up to represent Valley and Opelika at our 2 Birmingham competitions this season.
We will be posting the total competition results from Masquerade and Applause within the next week or so-- lots of information to process! In the meantime, i hope our dance family will post any and all candid pics from these events to our fb page for all to enjoy!

Happy Monday from bright and sunny Florida! It is currently 72 degrees in my part of the swamp and it is going to be a pretty mid 80’s day. Florida is a great place to live work and play! Today’s unique holidays include All is Ours Day and Draw a Picture of a Bird Day!

This is a day that is left up to you decide what all of ours means. The greatest events, and the best things in life, are those that are shared. The only thing the creator left out is the definition of who "Ours" represents. That is left up to you.
Draw a Picture of a Bird Day is a special day for young bird lovers who like to draw. It doesn't matter whether you are young, or not so young. If you like to draw, then today is a day to draw pictures of a bird or two, or three, or....... One of my favorite Florida birds is the brown pelican. They have a bit of a prehistoric look about them and are so clumsy. I have watched them fish and it still is a wonder how such a large bird can clunk in the water and still catch fish.
Well here it is Monday and a pretty day as well as a busy real estate day. So smile as you are being watched on candid facebook. Have a day that is ALL yours!

As James writes, from his pastor's heart, to the people of God, his entire letter is full of practical instruction and direct admonition. He does not have a flowery style or a theoretical bent; he is interested only in getting clear, candid counsel into the hands and hearts of believers.

And when he comes to the matter of affliction -- gut-wrenching, spirit-pounding, heart-crushing affliction -- this practical pastor gives his guidance in only three words: let him pray.

"Is that it?" we might ask. What about formulating an exit strategy? What about checking all our options for circumventing the pain? What about gathering a support group to cheer us up and cheer us on? The greatest therapy, the surest solution, the sweetest healing that we will find, James says, is in fervent and honest and faith-full conversation with God.

James is not suggesting a momentary, fleeting mention of our trial -- perhaps in the middle of blessing our breakfast food -- as the answer to affliction. The verb he uses is in the present tense: let him, in other words, continually be praying.

Perhaps you know what it is like to be so pressed by a sorrow or pain or trial that you pray, not only as you breath, but in order to be able to keep on breathing. There are times when God's people truly find Him their only source of strength, of life, of purpose, and of joy. They pray, not because they have to, but because they can't not pray.

Whether your affliction is earth-shattering or hardly-worth-mentioning, take your trial to God in prayer. And out of the fountain of close communion with your Father, will flow the calming, refreshing, restoring waters of spiritual renewal.
