The Aintree Grand National is always very exciting. This is my view on the leading contenders...........
ON His Own. Willie Mullins and Ruby Walsh, A miserable 7/1 with those stingy bookmakers. For me, the best horse in the race but he fell last year and is set for the same this time.
Sunnyhill Boy. Getting on (Lie myself)but has shown up well in Aintree Nationals before. Horses his age almost always go well in this steeplechase and at a current price of 20/1 I'll be on each way.
Ballabriggs. Won the race before and the McCain family have the best record for winning the National. For some reason they are offering 22/1 about Ballabriggs, a previous winner. At that price he has to be another each way bet.
Big Fella Thanks.This old timer is 40/1. But trainer Tom George is a top trainer of chasers. At the price, Big Fella Thanks can run a decent race and should be involved bar accident.
Joncol. Wexford's Paul Nolan is one of my favourite trainers and I would love to see him win the National. Joncol oozes class and some thought he would be a Cheltenham Gold Cup winner. His career form is better than everything else in the race and at 50/1 the bookies might be making a big blunder. Joncol has a big, big shout.
And is you are looking to put a pound each way on a big priced outsider that is totally unconsidered then look no further than Tarquinius. Gordon Elliot has been enjoying plenty of wins lately and Godron trained Silver Birch to win a National a few years back. Tarquinius is 100/1 but he has run exceptionally well in the Thyestes Chase in Gowran and that race has signalled Aintree winners before. For the small punter Tarquinius makes plenty of each way sense.
A TIP - Don't listen to all the unending statistics, fashionistas and so called celebrities. Make your own mind up and I hope you get a great run for your money and the winner. At the end of the day, the horse is the one who decides his mood.

We at the Forum are not ones to boast but a few weeks ago we tipped the winners of the Champion Hurdle and Cheltenham Gold Cup. And yesterday we selected the winner of the worlds richest race. Animal Kingdom is some animal. He had the race won three out. He is headed to Royal Ascot which will add to the excitement. We missed out on a big race double thanks to Joseph O'Brien's excellent ride on St Nicholas Abbey. Gentildonna could not get to the Coolmore horse. But what a great night of racing. Little matter of the Grand National next weekend. It's not only the thought of my Easter eggs that has my mouth watering!!!
