Euro – European Markets
A dismal US employment report led the single currency to nudge higher and breach the 1.30 mark against the US Dollar in Friday’s trading session. Weak Eurozone retail sales for March failed to have any significant impact on the Euro. However, the common currency has come under pressure against the US Dollar this morning, as worrying signs in Portugal dampened sentiment among investors. The Eurozone Sentix investor confidence data just out has also revealed a sharp deterioration for April, putting further pressure on the Euro.
In the midst of Portugal facing substantial headwinds, the nation’s high court rejected some austerity measures contained in the 2013 budget. This prompted the European Commission to warn that a failure to implement the agreed austerity measures would likely result in curtailment of future financial aid. However, in order to calm market nerves, the Portuguese Prime Minister later announced new cuts in social security, health programmes, education and state-run businesses.
In today’ trading session, markets are keeping a tab on German industrial orders for February for further cues on risk appetite.

Why Is The FG So Besotted With Getting Buhari To Talk To Boko Haram?
Last week, Doyin Okupe, a presidential spokesperson, emerged from nowhere to challenge General Muhammadu Buhari, the CPC leader and one of the pillars in the new APC, to talk to Boko Haram. Okupe was obviously speaking for Jonathan. The suggestion is not just funny, it is ludicrous. If Jonathan wanted to abdicate his responsibilities as the president and commander-in-chief of the armed forces, he should make it simple by resigning and making way for a more competent pair of hands. Maybe they have still not read the portion of the constitution that clearly says that the welfare and security of the people are the responsibilities of the government. The last time I checked, Jonathan was still the head of government and not Buhari. Jonathan cannot claim to have won the presidential election but wants Buhari to do the hard work.
If Jonathan is so scared of Boko Haram to the extent that he wore bullet-proof vests throughout his recent visit to Yobe and Borno states, why then would Buhari be the one that should not be afraid of Boko Haram, especially as he doesn’t control any of the security forces apart from his “mai gadi”? Buhari completely uprooted Maitatsine, a variant of Boko Haram, when he was head of state; it is now Jonathan’s turn to do the same with Boko Haram. He is the president, so the Boko Haram challenge is his responsibility to solve. The rest of us who are not part of his government can only help him with suggestions.

SORRY, GUYS (?)…..but just because the Sunday "NY Times" runs your photos in its "Wedding/Vows" section does NOT mean you are "married." In fact, homosexuals can NEVER be "married" because God has, FOREVER, defined "marriage" as ONLY one man/one woman….

PLAIN FACT RT. Hon RAILA IS A HERO & Hon. UHURU MUIGAI IS THE PRESIDENT
Fellow Kenyans, as a wait for the inauguration of the Fourth president of Kenya, Hon. Muigai Kenyatta, Let us stay calm and embrace reality that Hon. Uhuru is our FACTS President. Let us give him a chance to lead us in to prosperous nation. By electoral process 2017 let us then decide if he did a commendable job or not by either re-electing him or sending him to Tanzania as a Kenyan Ambassador. These are my views and I guess I am with due respect entitled to them.
I have been so keen on the social network trend. I have listened so deeply and observed with my inner eyes and I must confess that am perturbed with the animosity, direction and heights Kenyan going.I have realized that so many Kenyans are or live in ;
a) Denial b) Ignorance (c) Delusion d) Hatred
Now, please excuse me if I stepped on your toes or if I poked you in anyway i do not mean to or in malicious design intend to but by design to share with you my view regarding these cheap fun and insults against fellow Kenyans. Let the truth be told that we, as Kenyans, MUST accept and own up the responsibilities of any political mistakes and any eventualities therein. Having said that, we must now shift our focus to the development of our beloved nation and stop this insults that are being hurled to people airing their opinions.
To be particular I understand so far that the Right Hon. Raila Odinga will not be attending the inauguration Ceremony of Hon. Kamwana, but headed to South Africa to visit A sick friend and mentor. Kenyans on facebook on whose behalf we do not know have taken it upon themselves and now are exchanging unworthy lines of thoughts on ethnic grounds about the whole scenario. For a minute let us think sober and straight and ask ourselves a very simple question....Who cares if Raila attends or not? the fact remains if Raila comes back and demands to have dinner or lunch with Kibaki,Uhuru and moi his wish will be so granted in express. I really don't understand why poor Kenyans who can hardly dine with whoever they are obsessed with, should live in denial. The truth and simple fact remains that Uhuru is the president ,Raila is the Hero and Kenya has 42 tribes and nothing will change that. This is as our pride and is grounded firmly on the unity and diversity that we so cherished in the past.
Let us stop this insanity of hatred, delusion,Ignorance and Denial and live our lives and stop living the lives of Raila and Uhuru but instead divert our energies to embrace one another and be responsible and reasonable Kenyans who in their right minds do constructive criticism with respect of other peoples opinions. why are people not concerned as to why I will not be attending Hon. Kamwana's Ceremony? Get a life people.
