Two of our chess tournament guests checked out yesterday . Turns out one is a Grandmaster and earns his living from writing about and playing chess - now theres a new one to me. They both took at least an hour considering there options before making a move to be the first out of the door !! Have a good day

This 24th April the Mahatashtra Chess league is getting underway..after the amazing Tennis league in Jan this is a second event promoting a sport we as indians are very good at but has relatively lower mass appeal.. I am also told that next month we will also have the Maharashtra Badminton League in Pune. I have a suggestion to the major publications having a pune edition.. evrery major newspaper has at least 3-4 pages reserved for the local news daily.. why not use this space to report on these events in more details?? Make the sponsors and players and organizers important for a change?? I mean really, most of the players playing these games earn for winning a tournament about a 10th what IPL pays its players for sitting in dug out looking suitably grim( i am not complaining mind u, if cricket is popular their players are going to be rich, that's natural).. so why not at least for the duration of the tournament make them feel as if they are the headlines for the day?? Who knows , may be that feeling may spur some of them to take the next big step on the big stage...what do u think friends??

Many Exciting Activities at Nha Trang Sea Festival 2013

Hanoi (CINET) – The Nha Trang Sea Festival 2013, in the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa, Vietnam, will begin on June 8 and run for four days with many exciting activities.

The festival's activities will officially kick off at the April 2 Square by Tran Phu Road in the beach resort city, with a fireworks display held later in the night. Earlier on the day, festive goers can amuse themselves with performances of Spanish flamenco and traditional Japanese dance Bon Odori.

With more than 60 activities focusing on culture, arts, sports, tourism, fairs and workshops, the festival's organizers said they hope to introduce to people at home and abroad the natural beauty and culture of Nha Trang – Khanh Hoa as well as the friendliness and hospitality of the local people.

Especially, this will be the first time Nha Trang – Viet Nam International Sea Tourism Fair with the theme “Sea - island and tourism development” has been organized at the sea festival from 6 to 8 June with many typical activities as international tourism fair; “Viet Nam night” program; program for international buyers and press; sea tourism investment promotion conference; workshops on international cruise tourism in Viet Nam, sea tourism product development in the South Central coastal provinces; tourism business award; open golf tournament, etc.

Besides, this year’s program also has traditional games; competitions of cuisine, floral art; press award; performance of songs about Truong Sa Island and Khanh Hoa sea and islands; sports activities (human chess; international parachute contest; championships of international women's beach volleyball, national beach handball, etc.).

All activities to be organized are meant to promote the beauty that nature bestows on the city. And one of criteria is for sustainable tourism development to draw an increasing number of visitors to Nha Trang.
