Went to see GI Joe Retaliation last night in 3D on IMAX... well, it was better than the first one. Got home and finally watch Rare Exports: A Christmas Tale, a 2010 Finnish film about the real Santa (a giant demon like beast and his “elf’s” truly creepy underlings)! From a big American effects/action flick based on a 30 year old toy line to a creepy Finnish holiday film with subtitles... BOTH ENDS OF THE SPECTRUM!

Early Gi Joe toys has got to be the coolest toys ever made. Hence the Sky Striker, Whale Hovercraft, Cobra Terror Drome and ofcourse the U.S.S Flagg. Seriously 7 ft long toy? 2.5 feet in height.....they just dont do that anymore.

GI Joe 2 retribution is definitely a boys movie from the franchise that taught us that the army is cool. Good acting, great action sequences and amazing special effects couldnt hide an awful plot and lack of believability throughout. While bruce willis and the rock added a lot of acting credibility and the fact that these are real weapons actually in use - or at least could be - it irked me so much just how bad the plot and believability were - not to mention casually killing off the main characters from the first movie. If you are in the armed forces, are a huge gi joe fan, or you are someone that doesnt care about plot, go see it. Otherwise dont. I gave it 6 out of 10.
