According to a source who emailed this to us today:

"Two tree sitters were forcibly extracted from a grove of mature pine trees at 11:30 a.m. today after a three hour confrontation during which armed law enforcement scaled the trees and chased the tree sitters around on their traverse lines, finally cutting the traverses and forcing the sitters onto one of two platforms about 70 ft. off the ground.
Guns were pointed at the tree sitters, including two shotguns and an AR 15, observers on the ground reported. The confrontation ended when one of the two tree sitters was shot with a rubber bullet by law enforcement. About fifty people witnessed this.
The injured sitter was placed into the bucket of the 100' tall cherry picker. The second tree sitter surrender after his friend was shot. Both were lowered to the ground and arrested. The injured man was reportedly taken to hospital and the other to jail."

Were these actions too extreme or was law enforcement just doing their duty? What do you think?
