My money is on Balthazar King for the big race. Sure to stay, Cheltenham winner, top jockey and at 16-1 a good price. Have picked the past two winners so I have form!! Also got a bit of a bet on Soll as one or two tipsters thinks this can pick up a place at 66-1.

racing??? Are there any stewards at race courses these days, 100/1 won at liverpool, and the dramatic reversal of form from cheltenham, the way , MY TENT OR YOURS, and DYNASTE won yesterday, MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM, suppose it was the hill at cheltenham, or the ground conditions, surely a great trainer would now if his horse could cope with the affore mentioned conditions? wake up stewards.

All of the Aintree races used to be run at Heaton Park ( bet there's a few out there who didn't know that Heaton Park used to have a race course). So the Grand National is something else that those scousers have nicked

2.30 Aintree Paul Nicholls has won this race twice since 2008 with Big Bucks and in 2012 with Silviniaco Conti. He runs Rocky Creek here who has won on his last 3 outing, most notably in the Reynoldstown Chase with horse have ran in that race having a good record here. This horse will be a lot fresher than most in this field having bypassed the Cheltenham Festival and this race looks to have been his target....

All those Anti-National bandwagoners! Pipe down for another 12 months!

More research on the Horse Death front,Since Animal Aid started statistics on Horse racing deaths in 2007,32 Horses have died at Aintree on all courses compared to 45 who have succumbed at Cheltenham in the same period.Hope that helps the uneducated.

Scott

Another horse died today at Aintree.Little Josh was put down after breaking a shoulder at one of the small fences.I wish jockeys would take more care.

Katō

Just checked my ladbrokes account. From the last day at Cheltenham I thought the day finished with only £20 in my account! Must have missed what I get on.... Winnings gone in and now £124 in there! Woohoo!

Where do we go now? Along to the Cheltenham racecourse cocktail bar of course!

Aintree day 3:

So nothing can really match Aintree day 2 and the last day at Cheltenham but we'll have a good go.

It's NATIONAL DAY, so lets have a bit of fun, enjoy our great sport and hopefully make a few quid with some top draw horses doing battle, with our profits for this festival firmly tucked into our top pocket a day early.

1.45 - UTOPIE DES BORDES was going very well in the Albert Bartlett (3m) at Cheltenham before fading up the hill. I think she will massively improve for the better ground and back at 2m4 surely has a huge chance at 9/2 on Betfair currently, with the stable flying and Barry hunting down the top jock trophy.

2.15 - After a tough race at Cheltenham, Overturn may well be vulnerable here to the highly progressive handicapper from Ireland, ALDERWOOD. Tony McCoy's mount stayed on impressively in the curtain closer at the festival, on far from ideal soft ground. He will be another that will relish the better ground and the turn of foot he possesses could put a few in trouble. 2/1 Betfair currently.

2.50 - The best value in this race probably looks to be AFRICAN GOLD each way at 10/1 (b365). The form with At Fishers Cross looks good and with many having hard races at Cheltenham he could easily snatch a place (if not do better) at a very respectable price.

3.25 - Tough, can't pick anything!

4.15 - The Grand National Chase: You have to have a few punts here so I have picked out 3.

One that was highly fancied at Cheltenham but had to pull out was BALTHAZAR KING. I have always been a big fan and he should be in better shape than ever. Goes best when fresh as his trainer stated, there will be none fresher than Phillip Hobb's charge who is a very generous 20/1 (E/W) shot with a few bookies at the minute. Always jumps well and if he gets into a good rhythm like that of last years X country success at Cheltenham, he could be a real danger.

TEAFORTHREE is another I think can go very, very well. Has had a nice break since disappointing last time out, but no doubt likes the better ground and has no worries over stamina after some cracking efforts in big races this and last season. Theres no doubt Rebecca Curtis has had a massive season so far and she can put the icing on the cake by landing this at 16/1 (E/W).

My long shot would be BIG FELLA THANKS who loves it around here and at 40/1 could be huge value for your money each way.

Good luck. BB.
