I'm not sure why they are stepping Dodging Bullets up in trip here, as he's far from a certain stayer in my opinion. When he ran in the Triumph two years ago, he traded 1.27 in-running before fading to finish fourth. Not a trait that screams stayer to me. Although the good ground here will suit him better than the soft surface he encountered at Cheltenham, I just can't have him. Aside from my doubts about his stamina, I have serious reservations about him on the Aintree course as he ran a stinker in the 4yo race here last year. Definitely not one I'd want to be on at his current price of 9/4. Ubak & Utopie Des Bordes are the only other runners in the field that ran at the Cheltenham Festival. Ubak was completely outclassed in the Neptune finishing 25 lengths behind The New One and has never actually managed to win a race, so he's not one I want to be with either. Utopie Des Bordes is much more interesting. She has Grade 1 form in France at up to 2m6f and won both her UK starts before she went to the festival for the Albert Bartlett. She travelled well there for a long, long way but was eventually found wanting for stamina in the heavy ground and faded to finish fifth. She drops back in trip here on better ground and receives the 7lbs mares allowance. I think she'll be hard to beat. Up And Go is a very weak looking favourite to me. He may be unbeaten in completed starts but I think his form lacks substance. His most recent run was a six length win over Aaim to Prosper, and that horse was tailed off in the aforementioned Albert Bartlett. The rest don't look good enough.
