IM SORRY ABOUT THIS RANT BUT NEEDS TO B SAID.
all u do gooders and protestors of horse racing. please answer me 3 questions.
1. what was the name of the highly rated horse killed at doncaster in febuary?
ANSWER. darlan.
so where were u that cold day in a normal days race with ur views and signs??? on yes at home in warmth thinking u can put the world to rights. not giving a shit cause it wasent a main event and u cant get ur 10 pence worth of fame or get noticed or give a shit bout the animals
2. what was the name of the horse who died at cheltenham this year?
ANSWER matsui. why dident u know that??? cause wasent a big race so why should u care. after all u was probs at home tucking in to ur meat sandwiches or dinners yes that cow pig or sheep ur eating was alive once.....
3. where are you all on weekdays at sailsbury fontwell ayr etc etc
Answer sitting at home waiting for a big event to come along so u can make a little fuss and if ur lucky get a page in the paper.
my point being u dont give a shit about the horses just the big events. u sit there glued to tv hoping one has an accident so u can get on the carousel.... bit sick really isent it hoping one is hurt so u can get ur kicks. cause thats what u do.
katie walsh was spot on when she said those horses are treated better than some people treat their kids or loved ones. they r looked after everyday by dedicated staff who get up rain shine snow or wind to tend to there needs. and to go though the pain of a close animal not coming back after a race makes them distraught as well as owners trainers and jockeys. Take AP Mccoy when darlan was killed. he was distraught and still couldent talk bout it a week later.
Accidents happen in everyday life. few footballers have died over years due to heart attacks etc. so do we only play 30 mins a half now.
more people die in road accidents every year than race horses. so we gonna stop the world driving cause its dangerous.
Those horses love what they do and if u knew anything about racing ud know if a horse does not want to start a race or jump a fence then he will refuse and they cant b made to do it. they go because they love what they do but sometimes they make mistakes an accidents tragically happen.
but all u all care about is the big races. never seen on cold days at little meetings cause u wont get ur faces in paper.
why dont u leave a sport alone u dont understand and do what u aim to do and thats make good in the world. theirs plenty of charity's u can sponsor or do stuff for theres plenty of animals and children that need adopting in the world. so achieve ur goals an make a difference in the world.
my last point is few yrs back there was a farm in buckinghamshire that had something like 200 horse all diseased ill not been fed or looked after. thankfully the people were jailed but the horses that did survive needed homes or just money to charity's who could help them........................where were u then???????? no where to b seen to help. where was the people who love horses and who understand horses????? right there donating homes spare change or at very least if felt they could do nothing they thought of them.
nothing would make any horse lover happier than 40 horses coming back safe tomorrow and to go bk to their loving stables to b cared for at the highest standard. while all u lot go quiet till the next big event.

Grand National day is upon us and despite our best efforts; we could tip 39/40 horses today and still not pick the winner! It is that tough! That being said however, we will try to pick out some who we think have the best chance and represent a nice value price for those e/w backers too.
First of all, experience can count for a lot in races like this and previous history can be crucial. Many people also forget that this is still a handicap and the hike in weights is what puts a lot of pressure on previous winners to come and win again. No horse has done so since Red Rum in 1977. The distance of 4m4f is the longest trip in the British racing calendar and not many horses will be able to stay this mammoth distance
SEABASS has only had two runs since last year’s national but it was a gallant effort in 3rd. He’s been raised around 5lb since there but had two recent blowouts to show that all is still well with him. He’s a great jumper of fences and proved last year that he can handle this course. There is more on his plate this year but he is capable of laying down a challenge (around 9/1 – 10/1)
Another who has National form is BIG FELLA THANKS. I get the feeling he may be a shade too high in the weights now after his success earlier in the season but he can run into a place at least. He loves it round here and is good on this particular course. This will be his 5th time over these fences (inc. becher chase runs) and he has completed all four previous. (40/1)
I don’t know why but ROBERTO GOLDBACK sticks out for me as well. He seems to have a nice profile and Nicky Henderson has chosen him from his strong team of horses. Barry Geraghty has also chosen him over others he could have possibly ridden. He’s a class act on his day and like many the trip is questionable but he stays 3m at least so he’s definitely worth his place here. (25/1)
NINETIETH MINUTE has had a positive return to form of late and a chance can be taken on him. He is a class act (won Coral Cup at Cheltenham festival 2009) but has been on the slide over the past couple of years. He’s probably crying out for a longer trip nowadays and is potential well handicapped on his old form and at 66/1 he’s worth a couple of quid e/w (66/1)
BECAUSEICOULDNTSEE hasn’t had any luck in this race yet (fell once, unseated rider once) but he is potentially well handicapped if seeing out the trip. He always has run well at Cheltenham prior to this race but he can go well if managing to stay up at huge odds (100/1)
all selections above I will be taking e/w ….bookmakers will offer different e/w stipulations so aim for ones paying first 5 or first 6 places
good luck today
